Acerca de Este Evento

Descripción

The 20th anniversary Didgeridoo Camp convenes men from around the world for a four-day immersion in didgeridoo music, Aboriginal culture, and collective practice. Held on the traditional lands of the Yuggara and Ugarapul peoples, the gathering centers on workshops and performances led by Australian masters Charlie McMahon (Midnight Oil's legendary didgeridoo player), Mark Atkins (recognized internationally for his mastery and storytelling), multi-instrumentalist Nathan Kaye, and Mago Menla, who integrates ancient and contemporary sound with breathwork and meditation. Beyond musical instruction, the camp includes a men's yarning circle hosted by Uncle Terry from Menyarning, focused on wellbeing and connection through conversation and didgeridoo meditation. A smoking ceremony led by Aboriginal performing artist Eckybow and a welcome to country by Aunty Roma ground the gathering in ancestral protocols and respect for Country. Participants camp on site and share meals prepared by Chef Mei Eng, whose West-Asian fusion cooking is included throughout. The event is limited to 50 tickets, creating an intimate setting for musicians and those new to the instrument.
