Culture Night Ceilidh

An ensemble of accomplished Highland musicians convenes for a single evening of traditional ceilidh music and communal dancing. Led by Festival Musician-in-Residence Hamish Napier, the band draws from multiple celebrated Scottish acts, bringing together fiddler Lauren MacColl, multi-instrumentalist Anna Massie, drummer Fraser Stone, and accordionist Mairearad Green. Local ceilidh caller Morag Robertson guides participants through the steps, making the experience accessible to dancers of all levels. The evening unfolds through fast reels, measured waltzes, traditional marches, and vocal interludes, creating a participatory atmosphere rooted in Scottish cultural practice.
