Descripción

The 300 Hour Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training at Tattvaa Yogashala in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, is an advanced yoga teacher training course for people who want to deepen their practice and teaching beyond a foundation level. It is taught as a multi-style programme, and the school is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, displaying RYS 200, RYS 300 and E-RYT 500 credentials. It was founded by Yogi Kamal Singh and has been running since May 2012.

Tattvaa Yogashala sits in Swarg Ashram, near Ram Jhula, in the Himalayan foothills town long known as a centre for yoga study in India. The school also lists a second location in Bali on its application form, so it is worth choosing your location first, since the available courses change with it.

How the Training Is Shaped

This is a multi-style yoga teacher training, so the curriculum draws on more than one tradition rather than a single method. The school also teaches Ashtanga programmes and honours Sri K Pattabhi Jois, and its wider offering includes pranayama, Yoga Nidra and Mysore style Ashtanga. Its teaching team includes specialists in breathwork, meditation and healing practices, which gives trainees contact with several voices over the course.

The Teachers

Yogi Kamal Singh is the founder of Tattvaa Yogashala and the guiding figure behind the school's programmes.

Swami Omkarananda is listed as the school's teacher of psychokinesis and psychic healing.

Sunil Sharma Ji teaches pranayama and meditation, the breathing and stillness practices that sit at the heart of a teacher's own daily discipline.

Yogi Upendra Ji is a highly qualified yoga teacher on the school's faculty.

Getting There

Rishikesh is reached in a few ways. The quickest route from Delhi is a domestic flight to Dehradun Airport (DED), followed by a pre-booked taxi of about 45 minutes. A private taxi from Delhi takes 5 to 6 hours and suits late arrivals or heavy luggage. By train, travel from Delhi to Haridwar takes 4 to 5 hours, then about 30 minutes by taxi to the school in Swarg Ashram.

Rooms are chosen on the application form: couple sharing, which is a shared room for two, or a private single-occupancy room. Some courses offer private rooms only. Airport pickup is available, charged separately from the course fee and confirmed with the booking.

Before You Go

Applying takes about two minutes and carries no fee. No card details are requested at this stage. A person at the school replies by email and WhatsApp, usually within 48 hours. The school offers an early bird discount of 10 percent for those who enrol three months before the start date.

No prerequisites are stated for the 300 hour programme, so if you are unsure whether your experience is right, ask the school directly before applying. The school holds a 4.9 rating from more than 200 reviews on its own page, and 4.66 from 205 reviews on its Yoga Alliance profile.
