An Evening Of Heart-Opening Kirtan with Paramesh & Timbé is a live kirtan gathering at Villa Prana in Portimao, in Portugal's Algarve. It is open to anyone drawn to devotional call-and-response singing, whether you come to sing, to listen, or to sit quietly inside the sound.

Paramesh and Timbé lead the evening together. Kirtan comes from the bhakti yoga tradition, where simple sacred chants are sung in turn between leader and group, and the evening is shaped around that practice.

What to Expect

The gathering runs from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, a compact evening of an hour and a half. Kirtan is participatory by nature: the leaders sing a line and the room answers, so the music builds from the voices present rather than from a performance to be watched.

About Paramesh

Paramesh teaches yoga and meditation and leads retreats that bring together practices such as hatha yoga, bhakti yoga and meditation. His programmes have included a meditation retreat in Monchique, Portugal, and a pilgrimage retreat in Tiruvannamalai, South India. Kirtan sits alongside this wider teaching as part of the bhakti path.
