Acerca de Este Evento

Descripción

This New Year's Eve sangha gathering is an online meditation held over Zoom, a way to close out the year in community and carry your dharma aspirations into the next. It is the fifth annual New Year's Eve sit, led by Bill and Susan Morgan, the facilitators of BCBS Daily Sit, in the Buddhist tradition. It suits anyone who wants to mark the turning of the year with practice rather than noise, from wherever they are.

What to Expect

The evening runs from 9:00 PM to midnight Eastern Time, so you sit through the last hours of the year together. Bill and Susan Morgan offer guided meditations alongside reflections and encouragements, acknowledging that it has been a challenging year and looking toward what each person hopes to bring forward. The focus is on shared aspiration: setting intentions in the company of a sangha, not alone.

Because the gathering is live on Zoom, you take part in real time. Sessions are not recorded, so plan to be present for the evening itself. You can check the start time in your own timezone with a time zone converter.

About Bill and Susan Morgan

Bill and Susan Morgan are the facilitators of BCBS Daily Sit, a regular meditation offering in the Buddhist tradition. They host this New Year's Eve sit each year, and this is the fifth. Their note describes the evening as a chance to bring dharma aspirations forward together.

Before You Go

The program is offered in English and is open by donation, in the Buddhist spirit of dāna, the practice of generosity. There is no fixed admission fee. Donations are shared between the teachers and BCBS. There are no cancellation fees for donation-based programs.

You will need a device with Zoom and a quiet place to sit. Recordings are not included.
