[0:00] in this truly holy place
[0:05] on this very holy day
[0:09] among such holy people.
[0:11] One of the great truths
[0:15] that is
[0:18] very much at the heart
[0:22] of happiness
[0:24] as well as true spirituality.
[0:28] is what
[0:31] truly gives something
[0:34] value.
[0:41] In a very materialistic,
[0:43] spiritually disconnected society,
[0:48] people
[0:53] determine value on the basis of numbers.
[1:00] Numbers of dollars or rupees,
[1:04] numbers of followers,
[1:08] power, fame.
[1:11] Shila,
[1:14] he once told Pujaris
[1:18] when they were just putting very simple
[1:20] jewelry
[1:22] made out of you glass or
[1:27] some simple material.
[1:30] He said that if they're offered to
[1:32] Krishna with love and devotion,
[1:37] they are more valuables than diamonds
[1:40] and rubies.
[1:47] Krishna tells that he sees value only on
[1:51] the basis of love and devotion.
[1:56] He's the proprietor of everything that
[1:59] exists.
[2:04] So he's really not in need of anything.
[2:12] When you're in a desert,
[2:16] you're about to die from thirst
[2:20] and someone gives you a a check for a
[2:25] billion dollars.
[2:28] Does that have any value to you?
[2:33] Someone gives you a diamond ring, does
[2:36] that have value to you?
[2:39] But if someone gives you a cup of water,
[2:42] [laughter]
[2:45] you value it as much as your own life.
[2:49] Krishna is not in need of anything.
[2:52] But he gives infinite value to the heart
[2:57] of a devotey.
[3:01] In one place Sri Chaitananya Maha Prabhu
[3:05] he declares that all the wealth in an
[3:09] entire universe is not
[3:13] as valuable to me as one devotey like
[3:17] Haridas Takur who's constantly chanting
[3:20] my name.
[3:21] So this little storefront
[3:25] I believe in 19
[3:28] 66
[3:32] after so much struggle,
[3:36] decades of struggle in India,
[3:41] struggle on a cargo ship for 38 days
[3:45] with heart attacks and seasickness
[3:50] getting to America,
[3:53] struggling practically alone with no
[3:56] support or anybody even taking interest
[3:59] for almost a year.
[4:03] Getting robbed, getting threatened
[4:07] at such an old age.
[4:15] July 1st, 1966,
[4:19] he was given this little storefront
[4:25] and I believe it cost something like
[4:29] $175
[4:31] a month or something or $100. I think it
[4:34] was $100 a month.
[4:36] It was $100 a month and 75 for the room
[4:41] back there.
[4:44] But yet for the praupad
[4:48] this was the place
[4:51] where he would begin
[4:55] the movement of lord chaitananya maha
[4:57] prabu for the whole western world
[5:02] for the next 10,000 years
[5:05] for many of us when we go to bindaban
[5:09] which is such a very very holy place
[5:12] still when we go to those little rooms
[5:15] of Shria Prabhopad at Radha Damodar
[5:17] Temple.
[5:19] It's so especially intimately holy to
[5:23] us.
[5:25] very tiny little rooms
[5:28] and
[5:31] very simple
[5:34] but yet Shria Praupad declared
[5:37] that that little space
[5:40] to be the center of the spiritual world
[5:47] because it was close to where Shirupa
[5:49] Gowami,
[5:51] Shiat, all the six Goswamis they would
[5:54] meet there to discuss
[5:57] the pastimes of bindaban and the mercy
[6:00] of Sri Chaitananya Maha Prabhu and how
[6:02] to bring this message to the whole
[6:04] world.
[6:06] S the praad's guru shil bakti
[6:08] siddhandaras sati takur also had pushba
[6:11] samati there
[6:14] at the radamodar temple
[6:18] and for so many years he did his bachan
[6:23] he meditated
[6:26] with such
[6:28] pure love pure compassion upon all
[6:31] living beings
[6:33] it was there that he meditated ated on
[6:36] fulfilling the order of his guru
[6:38] Maharaj, the will of Lord Chaitananya
[6:41] and Lord Nityanandanda
[6:43] to do what no one has ever done in the
[6:46] history of the world.
[6:50] No resources, no help. But he was
[6:54] meditating there.
[6:58] And when Sheila Praupad came to the
[7:00] west,
[7:03] he brought with him in his heart
[7:06] the eternal abode of Vindaban.
[7:11] He brought with him
[7:13] the love, the mercy, the compassion
[7:18] of Sri Krishna Chaitananya praanand
[7:21] Shria Gadhar and all their devotees
[7:26] Shas and all devotees.
[7:29] He brought with him the six go swamies
[7:32] and all of our acharas
[7:34] in his heart
[7:40] and he came to share that
[7:45] and the place where he established our
[7:47] movement
[7:51] the seed was planted in 1922 by his guru
[7:55] Maharaj
[7:57] in Utadangi junction road which has
[8:00] recently been renovated and is now a
[8:03] place of pilgrimage for our Iskan
[8:05] society in the world
[8:10] and it was here
[8:12] 26 2nd Avenue that it took root
[8:16] there's a perport where she praupa
[8:18] describes
[8:22] that
[8:23] wherever devotees are serving together
[8:26] to spread the message of Krishna
[8:32] that place is
[8:34] Goloka Vindavan
[8:37] it's nond different than Goloka Bindavan
[8:45] I remember in this port he he says just
[8:49] he says we have our new brindaban and
[8:52] newindavin is non- different than
[8:54] bindaban and at the time I was living
[8:57] there so I was thinking
[8:59] This is really special. But then in the
[9:01] next line he said but every temple and
[9:04] every project where devotees are serving
[9:06] together is none different than goloka
[9:09] reind.
[9:18] So this truly is a very very intimate
[9:22] holy place.
[9:29] And in a certain way when there's
[9:32] something really beautiful and majestic,
[9:35] it's so
[9:37] openly a place of on reverence for God.
[9:43] But this little matchless gifts
[9:46] storefront
[9:48] that's still being rented. [laughter]
[9:54] It takes
[9:56] really
[9:58] a very fortunate blessing in the heart
[10:01] to recognize how supremely precious,
[10:05] valuable and holy this place is.
[10:11] What appears to be most ordinary
[10:16] is most sacred
[10:19] when we understand
[10:22] in its spiritual content.
[10:27] Just like when we put just a simple p
[10:31] piece of
[10:33] glass or metal jewelry on the deities,
[10:36] it's more valuable than diamonds and
[10:39] gold and silver because it's being worn
[10:41] by Krishna and it's offered with
[10:43] devotion to Krishna.
[10:46] We're so fortunate.
[10:48] We should be so happy because it's so
[10:50] crowded here
[10:54] >> and it's so hot.
[10:57] That's just such a blessing. We get to
[11:00] be in this holy place
[11:05] recognizing its infinite spiritual
[11:09] value.
[11:10] And we're also being given the
[11:13] opportunity to do tapasia to austerities
[11:16] here
[11:18] to be absorbed here
[11:21] from this little storefront.
[11:25] Sheila praopad began
[11:32] speaking on a regular basis from Shrimat
[11:35] Bhagavatam.
[11:40] Bhagavad Gita was never done before in
[11:44] America.
[11:49] From this little storefront
[11:52] going outside and doing har nam san was
[11:55] established for the first time.
[11:59] From this little storefront the first
[12:02] press operation started with a little
[12:05] mograph machine.
[12:07] From this storefront for the first time
[12:10] in history, regular prasadum
[12:13] distribution cooked from the hands of a
[12:15] pure vishna
[12:19] Lord Chaitananya Maha Prabhu.
[12:24] It describes in Sri Chaitananya
[12:26] Charitamita
[12:28] when he went to the birthplace of his
[12:30] guru Maharaj Ishwarapuri,
[12:35] he
[12:37] he took some simple ordinary dust from
[12:42] the ground apparently
[12:45] and he ate it [laughter] and put it on
[12:49] his head and he was crying in ecstasy.
[12:54] describing
[12:56] the priceless wealth of this dirt
[13:00] because it is from the birthplace of my
[13:04] Korum Mar
[13:07] was worth more to him than even the most
[13:10] enormous wonderful
[13:13] skyscrapers of New York City. Just that
[13:16] dirt which everyone walks on
[13:21] because he was feeling the presence and
[13:24] the mercy of his guru and that dust and
[13:26] he collected it. He took it with him
[13:30] and it describes every day he would eat
[13:33] a little bit of that dirt and cry in
[13:36] ecstasy
[13:39] said this dust is my wealth. It is my
[13:42] life and soul.
[13:46] because it is the place of my guruma.
[13:49] So we have gathered here
[13:52] praying and begging
[13:55] to go deeper and deeper into our
[13:57] appreciation
[14:02] of truly not only what it represents
[14:07] but the spirit that is all pervading
[14:11] in our hearts.
[14:13] all of our hearts throughout the
[14:14] movement.
[14:16] And it began right here
[14:23] on July 13th, exactly 60 years ago
[14:27] today,
[14:31] the International Society for Krishna
[14:34] Consciousness was [music] incorporated.
[14:40] When we read the purposes of Iskani,
[14:45] we understand that Shila Praupa, he
[14:48] started the the process of this
[14:51] incorporation
[14:53] while he was still living on the Bowery.
[14:56] He really wanted to do that. And it's
[14:59] really interesting
[15:01] because in 1953
[15:05] he drew an incorporating paper to
[15:09] established the league of devotees in
[15:11] Jani
[15:13] and the purposes are almost the same.
[15:22] This was not just for some legal
[15:24] official reason.
[15:29] Because the purpose is that we're
[15:31] established
[15:34] with a spirit the eternal spirit of Sri
[15:37] Chaitananya Mahabra
[15:43] that for
[15:46] the ultimate spiritual benefit of all
[15:50] humanity was being established Here
[15:58] I was to ask something of to speak
[16:01] something about the future.
[16:09] Shilapa didn't just incorporate Iskan
[16:12] for some tax exempt.
[16:15] He incorporated esc [music]
[16:19] offering as a statement
[16:23] to bring his movement into the future
[16:30] as he said for the next 10,000 years.
[16:35] to give it that recognition to give it
[16:38] that form
[16:42] that he entrusted
[16:44] to all of us
[16:47] to develop
[16:51] his holiness. Shila Sats Rupo Swami
[16:53] Maharaj describes when Propar was in New
[16:57] York City in the context that he was
[17:00] planting the seed
[17:06] and just imagine Shilap Prabhupad's
[17:09] vision.
[17:11] He didn't incorporate Iskan just so that
[17:14] he could get donations for this
[17:16] storefront.
[17:18] He incorporated Iskan as a foundation
[17:23] for spreading Krishna consciousness all
[17:26] over the world.
[17:30] He had this impossible vision.
[17:35] How many have been to Mayauram?
[17:38] How many have seen the latest progress
[17:41] of the temple of the Vic planetarium?
[17:45] We have brunch philosophu and sun and pu
[17:48] here.
[17:50] I'm not going to ask them to do a
[17:52] fundraiser tonight.
[17:54] [laughter]
[17:56] Just their just their presence. Um
[18:01] we hear the reverberation of all the
[18:04] other ones. [laughter]
[18:07] >> [clears throat]
[18:09] >> Can you imagine starting here in this
[18:12] little storefront
[18:14] [clears throat]
[18:15] with nothing with no one?
[18:20] The first devotees who started coming
[18:23] here
[18:24] they describe when they came in
[18:28] Shilap was just sitting on the floor.
[18:31] This beautiful disas came later
[18:34] after he actually had followers. He just
[18:37] sat on the floor with all the devotees,
[18:41] spoke to them, saying to them, not even
[18:43] devotees, there was no devotees. He was
[18:46] the only devotey
[18:49] um west of Bindaban.
[18:59] And now we see this incredible temple of
[19:02] Vadic Planetarium
[19:05] as one of his projects.
[19:11] When Shilapra incorporated Iskan here,
[19:17] he was planting the seed for all of
[19:20] this. He had the vision.
[19:26] When Shria Praupad 50 years ago 1976
[19:32] Shria Praa was in Washington DC and he
[19:36] asked Yadubar Prabhu and Vijaka Davi to
[19:39] take photos of the capital the dome of
[19:41] the capital building because he wanted
[19:44] that the dome of the temple of Vadic
[19:47] planetarium to be similar to that.
[19:51] Yes.
[19:54] [laughter]
[19:56] That's what I was told.
[20:01] Sheila Propa had this vision
[20:09] and how fortunate we are that by the
[20:12] mercy of Krishna and I believe by the
[20:16] reciprocation of Krishna's grace not
[20:20] only of the temple of Vadic planetarium
[20:23] is being fully built.
[20:26] Of course there's Krishna Balaram
[20:28] Shriapad left these little rooms in Rada
[20:31] that were being rented.
[20:35] A few years later Krishna was I mean
[20:38] Radamar Krishna Balaram temple was
[20:41] built. Jehu was built Mayapur
[20:49] temples all over the world.
[20:53] For almost any of us, his situation when
[20:57] he first came here
[20:59] was
[21:02] the first glimpse
[21:04] of a spark of hope
[21:07] in years of almost hopelessness.
[21:11] And what was it that gave him that faith
[21:16] and that determination
[21:19] and that vision
[21:22] despite all obstacles, disappointments
[21:26] and betrayals
[21:31] was his love for Krishna
[21:34] was his love for Radhan Krishna.
[21:38] his love and gratitude to his guru
[21:40] Maharaj
[21:42] his total faith in Krishna's holy names
[21:46] Sriapa had nothing and yet he came
[21:51] with such deep compassion
[21:54] to
[21:58] to give Krishna's mercy
[22:04] not only to the homeless in the streets
[22:06] in this neighborhood good.
[22:09] But to the millionaires
[22:11] and the billionaires,
[22:15] he felt the same compassion for all of
[22:17] them.
[22:24] He looked like a poor popper to the
[22:27] people, but he was carrying the greatest
[22:30] treasure.
[22:35] And Shila Prahabad
[22:37] wanted to share that treasure that
[22:39] treasure of his love for Krishna.
[22:43] So yes we go to temple of vadic
[22:45] planetarium and we celebrate what shria
[22:48] prabupad is doing
[22:52] and then we come here
[22:55] and we get such an intimate
[22:59] sweet [music] experience
[23:02] of where proput started
[23:07] and how he began doing it.
[23:10] We have Radhastami, the appearance of
[23:13] Sri Radha and John Mastami,
[23:17] appearance of Krishna, Ramnomi
[23:20] Singh at Chhaturazi.
[23:23] We have appearance days of so many great
[23:25] acharas.
[23:30] This is like the John Mastan and the
[23:32] John Masttomy for the incarnation of
[23:35] Iskan.
[23:48] We're celebrating
[23:51] [laughter]
[23:53] the international society for Krishna
[23:57] consciousness.
[23:58] Shilapa did not have one committed
[24:02] devotey
[24:04] in the world that was following him.
[24:08] When he established his society, he had
[24:11] people who were helping him. No one was
[24:13] initiated.
[24:16] No one was living with him yet. But with
[24:19] all certainty,
[24:22] he incorporated as the international
[24:25] society
[24:27] and a society in Krishna consciousness
[24:30] means Krishna is really in the center.
[24:37] had to do our purpose is to please
[24:39] Krishna
[24:41] and sometimes Shilapa would explain
[24:45] there are many spiritual organizations
[24:48] and religious groups
[24:51] but the uniqueness about the
[24:54] international society for Krishna
[24:56] consciousness
[24:58] it's it's a timeless culture and
[25:02] tradition
[25:05] that is based on unmotivated
[25:08] uninterrupted
[25:10] loving service to the supreme.
[25:14] Shrimat Bhagavatam
[25:17] Sriap came here with the holy name of
[25:20] Krishna
[25:22] and 200 sets of Shrimat
[25:25] first
[25:39] would emphasize it many many times. We
[25:43] are not sectarian.
[25:50] There are many religions in this world
[25:54] and we are teaching that the true
[25:56] purpose, the true heart, the true
[25:59] essence
[26:03] is not just what we call the religion
[26:06] Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Jane,
[26:10] Sik
[26:12] true dharma according to Shrimat
[26:14] Paramatam
[26:17] is ecstatic transcendental loving
[26:20] service to the supreme lord
[26:23] that is unmotivated by any selfishness,
[26:28] any arrogance,
[26:31] any superficial bodily designations
[26:38] and uninterrupted by any obstacle or
[26:42] temptation.
[26:49] Papa,
[26:51] we are not trying to convert people from
[26:53] one religion to another. We are trying
[26:55] to awaken people to understand the only
[26:59] true
[27:01] possibility of peace,
[27:04] the only true happiness for the soul
[27:09] is uninterrupted,
[27:13] unmotivated
[27:14] pure love for God, for the supreme.
[27:20] When they asked should we name this
[27:22] international f society for god
[27:25] consciousness shriap praad said in the
[27:27] world today the word god is quite vague
[27:33] but Krishna Sria praad described is very
[27:37] scientific
[27:38] [laughter]
[27:40] it's very deep it's not a sectarian word
[27:45] krishna is the all beautiful the all
[27:47] merciful the supreme
[27:50] Possessor of all opulence is the
[27:52] ultimate object of love. The ultimate
[27:54] loverant
[28:06] Krishna declares and it is desri
[28:08] declared in other scriptures as well.
[28:10] The only way to reach that love is
[28:13] through bacti through devotion.
[28:19] Such a vision.
[28:22] Sheila Praos his his soul was
[28:25] overflowing
[28:27] with such infinite
[28:30] ecstatic love for Rada and Krishna
[28:34] and when he was sitting on the floor
[28:36] here with just a few people who didn't
[28:39] really know why they were even here
[28:44] when he was chatting the holy names and
[28:47] speaking from the scriptures and
[28:50] offering prasad God.
[28:56] It was the Har Krishna Har Krishna
[29:01] ecstatic love of God just exploding from
[29:04] his heart for the whole world.
[29:11] In order for
[29:13] a society or a community
[29:19] to truly represent
[29:21] the purpose of the international society
[29:24] for Krishna consciousness,
[29:27] it is actually
[29:30] determined by how each and every
[29:33] individual devotey takes responsibility.
[29:40] Because a society is a group of
[29:43] individuals
[29:50] and it's very personal.
[29:54] Each and every one of us
[29:58] should be going as deep as we can
[30:02] to represent this pure message that is
[30:06] the greatest most essential desperate
[30:08] need of the world today and forever.
[30:16] How am I taking shelter of the holy
[30:18] names of God?
[30:21] How am I taking shelter of living in
[30:23] harmony with the teachings of God?
[30:28] How am I taking shelter of this
[30:30] principle of unity and diversity
[30:36] where apparent disputes can be resolved
[30:39] in a higher principle
[30:43] rather than our relationships being
[30:45] dissolved by lower principles.
[30:50] Kali Yuga is an age of quarrel and of
[30:52] hypocrisy.
[30:55] In order for us to spread a united
[30:58] movement of God consciousness, Krishna
[31:00] consciousness,
[31:02] the Sankran movement of Sri Chaitananya
[31:05] Maha Prabu,
[31:10] we need to be very serious.
[31:13] We need to take responsibility
[31:17] to unite on a higher platform,
[31:22] than our egos, [music]
[31:26] than our apparent disagreements,
[31:29] that are
[31:31] um conditioned opinions of each other.
[31:40] Sheila Prao is seeing the eternal soul
[31:42] in everyone.
[31:45] Whatever the color of their skin,
[31:46] whatever their religious background,
[31:48] their nationalistic background,
[31:51] their social background,
[31:55] whatever their age, he was saying that
[31:58] everyone
[32:00] is a child of God.
[32:03] You know, there's there's bands playing
[32:08] in huge stadiums
[32:11] and elegant concert halls
[32:14] and Propa was playing a bongo drum under
[32:16] a elm tree in Tonkan Square Park
[32:21] sitting on the ground.
[32:27] And in those days, Tommpkin Square Park
[32:30] was really a rundown place.
[32:40] There was absolutely no material
[32:44] prestige
[32:46] for singing in Tomkin Square Park.
[32:49] [laughter]
[32:53] And he [music] was just doing it for
[32:55] free.
[32:57] But he was putting his whole heart with
[32:59] such gratitude with his full
[33:01] consciousness
[33:05] knowing that just playing that little
[33:07] drum and chanting was for Krishna's
[33:10] pleasure.
[33:13] He was surrendering his heart and his
[33:15] life to Krishna with the hope and the
[33:18] prayer
[33:20] that Krishna's blessings would shower
[33:22] upon the whole world.
[33:28] And we will make such beautiful
[33:32] spiritual progress if we actually follow
[33:35] Shriil Praad in this spirit
[33:40] because that was what he asked of us.
[33:46] Follow what I'm teaching you
[33:49] and share it with others.
[33:52] He didn't ask anything else.
[33:56] Just follow these teachings. They're
[33:58] Krishna's teachings.
[34:01] Sri Radha and Sri Chaitananya Maha
[34:03] Prabhu and all of our acharas their
[34:06] mercy is flowing through these
[34:08] teachings. Just follow them and you'll
[34:11] be transformed.
[34:19] Before Shilapraad left us
[34:23] some devotees were crying
[34:27] and they asked how will we live without
[34:30] you.
[34:32] Shriil Praat said
[34:35] because I will always be chanting Hari
[34:37] Krishna. If you are chanting Hari
[34:40] Krishna we are always together.
[34:46] And this is a sublime spiritual truth.
[34:57] We have today on the internet
[35:01] zoom.
[35:03] Yes. If you do a link,
[35:07] even if someone's in Australia or India
[35:10] or California or New York, we're all
[35:13] together. We look in the screen and
[35:15] we're all in the gallery.
[35:19] What do they call it? Real time.
[35:25] But actually this whole material world,
[35:27] Maya means that which is not real.
[35:30] [laughter]
[35:31] But when we're chanting Har Krishna
[35:33] sincerely and taking shelter of the holy
[35:36] names in real time
[35:41] real time means eternally
[35:45] the link that we all connect with each
[35:48] other is beyond space beyond time.
[35:54] Goloa primadana haram scrana
[35:59] this holy name of Krishna this maham
[36:01] mantra has descended from goloka
[36:06] when we're truly attentively
[36:10] taking shelter of the holy names we are
[36:13] literally we're tuned into the goloka
[36:17] prenaban
[36:21] to shria praupad
[36:23] to all to shaitananya maha pu nityanand
[36:26] pu panchatwa all of our acharas
[36:31] they're all in the gallery
[36:36] [laughter]
[36:37] in real time we're together this is not
[36:41] just a idea this is not just a
[36:44] imagination
[36:46] this is for real
[36:50] if you are chanting and I am chanting
[36:52] we'll always be together. Such a simple
[36:55] statement.
[37:08] But to really link in to that connection
[37:11] as we're chanting,
[37:15] we must strive to live by this
[37:19] principle.
[37:22] Being humble like a blade of grass,
[37:25] tolerant like a tree, offering all
[37:26] respect to others and expecting none in
[37:29] return.
[37:39] Our own personal
[37:42] spiritual advancement
[37:46] is dependent on
[37:48] how we personally
[37:51] take this responsibility [music]
[37:56] as the most serious opportunity in our
[37:59] life.
[38:04] And according to how each and every one
[38:06] of us take that responsibility,
[38:10] our society
[38:12] becomes more and more empowered
[38:17] to attract [laughter] to attract the
[38:19] world
[38:24] to participate in this eternal Zoom
[38:27] call. [laughter]
[38:32] of kran of the holy names in the
[38:34] spiritual world with all of our acharas.
[38:44] So the future of the next 60 years,
[38:48] the future of the next 10,000 years,
[38:52] it's beyond our imagination.
[38:55] But in many ways what Shilapa did from
[38:57] this store storefront was beyond
[38:59] everyone's imagination at that time.
[39:04] If we're just thinking and hoping that
[39:07] other people will do great things.
[39:11] That's good.
[39:15] But what we're being called upon
[39:18] is, as they say, to be that change we
[39:22] want to see in the world.
[39:28] We all know that beautiful story when
[39:30] Hanuman was carrying mountains and that
[39:33] little squirrel was just shaking grains
[39:37] of sand as a contribution to build that
[39:41] bridge.
[39:46] Lord Ramchandra saw
[39:49] that it's not the quantity
[39:53] of what we achieve that is valuable to
[39:56] him but the [clears throat] sincerity
[39:58] and the dedication
[40:02] in which we're offering it.
[40:06] Hanuman took such responsibility to
[40:08] build that bridge and the squirrel did
[40:10] the same.
[40:18] In the madila of Sri Chaitanya
[40:20] Charitamita
[40:22] on Sri Chaitananya Maha Prabhu in his
[40:24] south Indian tour
[40:28] it describes for that whole two years
[40:30] wherever he went he was teaching that
[40:32] simple message
[40:43] this is teaching. Chant these names of
[40:45] Krishna
[40:47] and whoever you meet
[40:51] instruct them in the message of Krishna
[40:55] and in this way be a guru
[41:01] and to the Kurma
[41:03] Brahman
[41:05] he described there's no reason for you
[41:07] to leave home
[41:09] just remain home with your family and
[41:12] put Krishna in in the center.
[41:15] Teach your family, teach whoever you
[41:17] meet and chant the holy names.
[41:24] And Shil Praa describes wherever Kavir
[41:28] Gowami wherever Lord Chaitana he gave
[41:31] the same message
[41:36] to take serious responsibility to follow
[41:39] these wonderful path of Bakti [laughter]
[41:46] and Shri once said the purpose of our
[41:49] international society for Krishna
[41:51] consciousness
[41:53] is that Everybody chants the holy names
[41:56] of the Lord within our society and tries
[42:00] through our example, through our words
[42:04] to inspire that faith in others.
[42:12] In the world we're living in, there's so
[42:15] much dispute, so much
[42:18] division
[42:23] and so much confusion.
[42:32] It's so important as a community that
[42:35] through our examples, through our care
[42:37] for one another
[42:41] and through our words,
[42:44] we help each other to pres to preserve
[42:48] and expand our faith.
[42:52] Our faith in Shriapad and Aracharia's
[42:55] mercy. Our faith in the holy names of
[42:57] Krishna and our faith in their
[42:59] teachings.
[43:05] And if we're thinking about the future
[43:07] of the international society for Krishna
[43:10] consciousness on this day when it was
[43:12] incorporated
[43:16] I believe it's a time when we should
[43:17] really reflect be introspective and
[43:21] prayerful
[43:28] how as an individual and as a community
[43:32] we could really take responsibility
[43:37] to be united
[43:39] with faith in the higher principle
[43:43] of Krishna's mercy
[43:48] she represented that
[43:52] as our founder Achara
[43:55] in such
[43:56] a magnanimous way
[44:00] to give us hope forever.
