Sonia Kreitzer is a multidisciplinary artist and sound healer who makes music as Doe Paoro. She is a singer, songwriter and meditation guide based between Los Angeles and Costa Rica, with four full-length records. She studied Tibetan Opera singing at the Tibetan Institute for Performing Arts in Dharamsala, India, and credits those teachings with helping her embody her voice.
Ritual sits at the heart of her work, which she treats as a spiritual and healing art form. It is shaped by years of studying the subtle language of plants, ancestral wisdom traditions and dreamwork. Her meditation and somatic practice has grown alongside her music, informed by training in mindfulness, yoga and trauma-informed modalities. Together these form an ecosystem rooted in care, transformation and embodied communion with the living world.
Sonia is a steward at Tierra Valiente, a community committed to building decolonized and post-capitalist futures. She also founded Activating the Voice, a learning series that supports people in voicing what has been historically silenced. Through it she explores how music can be a technology for resilience, repair and more equitable realities.
She has toured with The Gipsy Kings and KT Tunstall and collaborated with Peter Bjorn & John, RAC and Son Little. She has performed at festivals including Bonnaroo, Osheaga, Desert Daze and Envision. Her work has been featured by the BBC, NPR and New York Magazine. She has also offered sound healing at LACMA and the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, and has shared her work in ceremonial and therapeutic community settings internationally. Her music has passed 50 million streams and appeared on radio, television and film.
