Silvia Nakkach

Silvia Nakkach is a Grammy-nominated composer, vocalist and instrumentalist. Her music draws on elements of Indian ragas and sacred Afro-Brazilian chants, and reviewers have called her a Bay Area treasure with more than a dozen albums to her name.

Her album Liminal was produced by Todd Boston, an engineer, musician and multi-instrumentalist. It features David Darling on cello, Jeff Oster on flugelhorn, and Val Serrant on percussion and voice. The album reached the ZMR Music Charts Top 10.

Nakkach describes the music as "a gentle journey through fluid sound landscapes and ephemeral voices moving, transforming and dissolving like clouds in the sky." She says it invites a more open listening experience in which time is dilated, and that listening becomes a place to go when one needs more space.
