Liquid Bloom is the world-electronic project of Amani Friend, co-founder of Desert Dwellers and curator of the Desert Trax label. The catalog is wide, and it moves between deep ambient, downtempo grooves and ecstatic dancefloor music. A good way in is to pick one entry point and then branch out.
Start with "Flow of Life (Om Mani Padme Hung)", the newest release, a two-track single from July 2026. It's short, so it costs almost nothing to try. It is also a clear example of what the project is about: a sacred chant carried through modern electronic production. If it works for you, the rest of the catalog will too. Elemental Soundscapes for Breathwork Facilitators & Guides. This album is made of long sound beds that resonate with the five elements: water, air, fire, earth and ether. It's the deepest look at the ambient side of the work. Put it on while you read, stretch or sit.
"Golden Road (Liquid Bloom & Bloomurian Revibe)." This May 2026 single is a good pick if you came for the dancefloor side. Play it after the chant and ambient material to hear how the same project handles rhythm and movement.
Kuya Sessions: Sol Remixed. This is the final album in the Kuya Sessions series, which Amani made with Poranguí. It remixes the original Kuya: Sol sessions and weaves terrestrial and celestial sounds with ancient instruments and field recordings. It's a good third stop because it shows the collaborative side of his work.
Expect music built for a purpose. The stated intention is to create spaces of remembrance, movement and awakening, with a flow between meditative states and the dancefloor. Pieces may unfold slowly and don't always chase a hook. Chants and traditional elements sit inside the production rather than on top of it. The 2026 singles also show how wide the range is: "Refuge Breathwork" and "Loving Awareness" suggest inward listening, while "Earth Walkers" and the "Sailing the Solar Flares" remix sit alongside the more rhythmic work.
Treating it as background music. Ambient doesn't mean disposable. The long sound beds and chants reward attention, especially the first time through.
Expecting a DJ set. Amani Friend is a DJ, but much of this catalog is designed for stillness, breath or meditation, not peak-hour energy.
