The Larks are a folky pop duo, Liz Miller and Chris Wilbraham, based near Bury St Edmunds. They use guitar and mandolin to complement their voices, drawing on a wide range of influences and experiences to entertain their audiences.
Their original songs can be populated by mermaids, nightingales and vampires, and have been known to describe a lifeboat disaster or warn of climate change.
The duo met in the Bear pub in Beyton, where locals gathered to sing songs. They started a regular music night there while honing their own skills. Over the years they have played festivals, pubs, clubs and theatres, including Cambridge Folk Festival, FolkEast, Folk in a Field, Ely Folk Festival, Swanage Folk Festival, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, Fisher Theatre Bungay, Islington Folk Club and Cambridge Folk Club.
They were winners of the Watford Folk Club Songwriting Competition in 2024.
