Clara Falala-Séchet is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist who specializes in complex trauma, attachment difficulties and life paths marked by deep ruptures. She sees adults online in French, English and Swedish, working from Stockholm and Paris.
She was born into a family of musicians, studied the violin and became a professional musician. She also worked as an independent orchestra administrator in France and internationally. She says that work taught her rigour and adaptability, and attentiveness to others across very different contexts and cultures. Her interest in human psychology led her back to university, alongside her work, for a second master's degree. She holds a Master 2 in Integrative Psychopathology from Université de Paris and completed several clinical placements. She wanted to connect the intuitive listening developed through music with the humanities and with science-based clinical practice.
EMDR is the foundation of her practice. It is rooted in the humanistic approach and in attachment theory, and she also draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, emotion-focused therapy and mindfulness. She has practiced mindfulness meditation for 15 years, according to her Insight Timer teacher page, where she has created free content. Her work has continued through further EMDR training, including EMDR Europe accreditation, and her practice is regularly supervised by two experienced colleagues.
Alongside clinical work, she has collaborated with researchers and engineers on projects combining artificial intelligence and mental health, including Mon Sherpa. With Lee Antoine, a mental-health peer supporter, and Igor Thiriez, a psychiatrist, she co-created Owlie, an open-source psychological-support chatbot. It has been presented at scientific conferences and published in specialist journals. A question drives these projects: how to combine humanity and technology to care better.
Her approach rests on the conviction that every person carries precious resources within, sometimes buried but able to be mobilized within a safe framework. Her work is to help people find them again, recognize them and reactivate them.
