Descrição
Yoga is not a physical practice alone—it's a comprehensive path of personal development, and this 200-hour training at The Bhakti Center in New York offers seekers the rare opportunity to study it as such. Over eight months beginning October 2, 2026, you'll journey through asana, philosophy, meditation, pranayama, and lifestyle study under the guidance of Brinda Kumari and Jamuna Jaya, both experienced and Yoga Alliance-certified instructors. This is not a weekend workshop; it's an immersive exploration designed for those called to deepen their own practice and to develop the knowledge and skill to guide others safely and authentically.
If you've felt drawn to yoga beyond the physical poses—if the Bhagavad Gita speaks to you, if mantra resonates in your body, if you want to understand the ethical and spiritual foundations of this ancient path—this training honors that longing while building concrete teaching competence. Participants study yogic anatomy, sequencing, hands-on adjustments, and the sacred responsibility of instructing others. The curriculum weaves together the inner work of spiritual connection with practical mastery, grounded in a principle that matters: personal transformation must precede skillful instruction.
What to Expect
This eight-month immersion balances depth with accessibility. You'll engage with yoga's ethical foundations and philosophy texts, explore mantra science and Ayurveda, and develop core teaching skills in a supportive community setting. Classes and study sessions cover asana technique, pranayama practice, meditation instruction, anatomy for teachers, and the ethics of holding space for others. Brinda Kumari and Jamuna Jaya lead with both rigor and warmth, creating an environment where genuine inquiry and personal growth naturally unfold.
By completion, you'll have integrated yoga's wisdom into your own life and developed the confidence and competence to teach progressively and safely. Graduates receive a 200-hour certificate and may register as an RYT 200 through Yoga Alliance—a credential recognized worldwide.
