Descrizione
Imagine standing in a pasture with a rescued horse, feeling the nervous system of a 1,000-pound being mirror your own—and discovering, in that shared breath, a pathway home to yourself. Unbridled Stories is a transformative five-day retreat that weaves equine-assisted mindfulness with narrative healing, offering you a profound journey of reconnection, resilience, and authentic voice. Held at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY, this retreat harnesses the wisdom of horses on their own healing journeys to help you release old stories and step into the truth of who you are becoming.
This is not a typical yoga or meditation retreat. Over five days, you'll spend mornings at 13 Hands Equine Rescue—a sanctuary for over 200 rescued horses, mules, donkeys, and zebras—learning to attune through direct, present-moment interaction with the herd. Afternoons at Omega's serene Hudson Valley campus anchor your work through somatic practices, breathwork, and contemplative meditation that settle your nervous system and deepen your capacity for presence. The retreat explores a central truth: stories held within us, once constrained by old narratives and defensive patterns, can emerge and transform when witnessed with compassion. Horses embody this transformation daily—they teach trust, presence, and resilience through their very being.
Whether you're seeking healing from life transitions, yearning to reclaim your voice, or drawn to conscious work with animals, this retreat creates a container for profound inner work grounded in both earth and embodiment.
What to Expect
Morning sessions at 13 Hands Equine Rescue invite you into guided, interactive work with the horses. You'll learn to read the animals' subtle language, practice grounding techniques, and discover how presence with the herd reflects your own capacity for authenticity and trust. These are not riding sessions—they're contemplative encounters designed to awaken attunement.
Afternoons at Omega Institute deepen the work through somatic awareness practices, guided meditation, and creative prompts that help you access and release held stories. Group sharing circles provide integration, community reflection, and the healing power of compassionate witnessing.
By the retreat's end, you'll have released defensive patterns, reconnected with your authentic voice, and cultivated a new relationship with presence—both within yourself and in connection with others. You leave with tangible tools, a supportive community, and the embodied knowing that transformation is possible.
