Descrizione
Your body holds wisdom. Over five transformative days in the Hudson Valley, you'll learn to listen to it—through movement, breath, and sacred ritual—in ways that quiet the noise of daily life and reconnect you with your own power. Embody Spirit is a women's retreat led by dance and somatic healing facilitator Miriam Peretz at the contemplative Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. This is not a dance class where you follow steps. Instead, you'll move into embodied inquiry, guided improvisation, and ecstatic expression, drawing on Nava Movement and sacred circle dances from Central Asia. Each day closes with a revelation: creating dance directly with the landscape, letting the natural world itself become your teacher. Whether you're a seasoned mover or someone who hasn't danced in decades, this retreat invites you home to your body and to the collective healing that happens when women move together in sacred space.
The retreat weaves contemplative practice with embodied expression—creating room for both personal insight and shared transformation. You'll work with whirling practices and somatic movement to deepen your connection with breath, body, and the earth. The Omega Institute's trails and natural setting become an integral part of the work, not simply backdrop. This is spiritual practice in motion.
What to Expect
You'll spend five days moving between guided somatic exploration, breathwork, and creative movement in circle. Each morning and afternoon session introduces new practices—from Central Asian sacred dances to whirling—always with permission to find your own authentic expression. The facilitator holds space for both structure and freedom. As the day unfolds, you'll notice deeper presence, easier breath, and a felt sense of belonging in your own body. Each evening culminates in site-specific dance creation: you and your fellow participants move on the land, using the trails, clearings, and natural features of Omega's grounds to shape movement and meaning. By day five, you'll carry a new somatic literacy—and friendships forged in movement.
