Description
Imagine stepping into your body not as a problem to be fixed, but as a source of profound wisdom and freedom. Pulse and Presence is a three-day somatic healing workshop that invites you into direct contact with the body's inherent intelligence—those subtle currents of sensation that organize into clarity when met with steadiness and compassion. Led by somatic trauma coach Danielle Rubio, this ten-hour immersive experience at the legendary Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, weaves nervous system regulation, intuitive movement, memory reprocessing, and contemplative practice into a cohesive journey toward liberation from habitual patterns of tension and stress.
This is not typical talk therapy or fitness instruction. Instead, you'll move beyond the mind's well-worn narratives into the body's own voice—listening to the stories embedded in layers of held tension, exploring how embodied expression can support your nervous system's natural capacity to process, restore, and ultimately transform. The work proceeds gently, honoring each participant's unique pace and capacity, whether you're new to somatic practice or deeply experienced.
Set against the dramatic cliffs and redwood forests of Big Sur, Esalen provides the perfect sanctuary for this tender, powerful work. You'll leave not just with insights, but with tangible practices and a recalibrated nervous system—a true rite of passage into greater presence, resilience, and freedom in your body and your life.
What to Expect
Movement sessions unfold alongside somatic inquiry and spacious reflection, creating room for the body to release what has been held beneath conscious awareness. You'll engage in intuitive, gentle movement designed to help your nervous system recognize and release stored tension. Through guided somatic inquiry, you'll learn to listen to your body's messages with curiosity rather than judgment. Moments of contemplative stillness and reflection weave throughout, allowing integration and insight. The atmosphere is collaborative, trauma-informed, and deeply grounded in nervous system science. No prior experience with somatic practice is required—only a willingness to be present and curious about what your body wants to tell you.
