Description
Imagine spending two weeks immersed in the contemplative heart of South India, living within a lineage that has preserved meditation teachings for generations. The Meditation Teacher Training in India invites certified yoga instructors and established meditators to step beyond personal practice into the role of guide and teacher. Led by senior Integral Yoga teachers Swami Ramananda and Ram Wiener, this residential program at Satchidananda Ashram – Yogaville in Buckingham, VA offers a rare opportunity to deepen your meditation practice while developing the skills, confidence, and spiritual grounding needed to lead others.
This is not a retreat for casual exploration—it's a rigorous, immersive 105-hour certification program designed for serious practitioners ready to embody the teachings. You'll live as part of the ashram community, participating in the daily rhythms of contemplative life while studying meditation theory, technique, and the art of teaching. By the end of two weeks, you'll have the foundation to guide meditation workshops and six-week courses, grounded in direct experience of authentic yogic tradition.
Whether you're seeking to formalize your teaching credentials, deepen your own meditation practice, or answer a calling to serve others through this ancient practice, this program offers transformation rooted in lineage and real-world application.
What to Expect
Your days unfold within the ashram's supportive structure: instruction in meditation theory and technique, practical teaching labs, and immersion in the contemplative traditions of South India. You'll study core practices including mantra meditation, breath awareness, visualization, and witnessing practices, supported by pranayama (yogic breathing) to stabilize and deepen your meditation. Teaching methodology is woven throughout—you'll learn how to guide others with clarity, compassion, and confidence.
Led by two seasoned teachers in the Integral Yoga lineage, the curriculum balances intellectual understanding with direct experience. Class sessions, group practice, study, and the natural rhythm of ashram life create an environment where transformation happens both on and off the meditation cushion. You'll leave with a comprehensive manual, a deepened personal practice, and the pedagogical tools to offer meditation authentically to your students and community.
