Yoga Teacher
Heather Nichole is a yoga teacher, somatic coach, retreat leader and nervous system practitioner based in Temecula, California. She is known for Roaming Sisterhood, her small-group women's retreats in places such as Zion, Costa Rica, Thailand, Yosemite and Ireland, and for teaching breathwork, embodiment and mindful movement to women who want to come back to themselves.
Her work grows out of lived experience rather than theory. Heather spent a decade as an award-winning destination photographer. Then a 20-year marriage ended and a burnout cracked her open. She rebuilt her life as a single mother of three. She says that period taught her we don't heal by hustling, we heal by coming home to ourselves. Nervous system regulation, somatic coaching and adventure that puts a person back in the body, not just the head, are what she found worked, and they are what she now shares. The material names no lineage or teachers, but describes her approach as grounded and trauma-aware. Heather is a therapist-in-training. Her coaching is for educational and support purposes only and is not therapy.
Heather describes her practice as three threads. The first is nervous system and somatics: regulation, breathwork and mindful movement that soften old patterns and return a sense of safety. The second is sisterhood and community, through retreats, circles and coaching where women reconnect with their bodies, rewrite their stories and rise together. The third is creativity and expression, using journaling, storytelling and ritual to meet the parts of a person that have been quiet too long.
Her Roaming Sisterhood retreats are intentionally small, with a limited number of women at each. Days include daily yoga, guided hikes, shared meals and time away from the phone. Settings include a cliffside oceanfront retreat on Koh Samui in Thailand, Airstreams in the forest at AutoCamp Yosemite, a jungle-to-ocean retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica, and a historic estate at Temple House in County Sligo, Ireland. About 70 percent of guests come on their own, and Heather supports them from booking to home, with flight and packing help and a group chat before the trip. Between retreats she offers one-on-one nervous system and somatic coaching, as well as business and marketing coaching for adventurous creatives. She also hosts Fireside Chats on Instagram, a free community space of tips, honesty and inspiration open to every woman.
For those who prefer a shorter practice, Heather teaches on Insight Timer. There she shares guided breathwork, somatic practices and gentle yoga flows. The short practices are designed to ease stress, regulate the nervous system and invite grounding, release and presence. They rest on her belief that the body is both a safe home and a doorway to deeper connection.
Her work is for women who are already growing, through journaling, therapy and noticing, and who want to go deeper in the body and among other women, not because they are stuck and not because they have arrived. Many come curious about what is next, or tired of surface-level connection. She says guests leave with a body that feels like home again, friendships that go beyond small talk, and more clarity on what they want next. When she is not holding space, Heather hikes desert trails, chases golden light and practices yoga. She lives with her partner Tim, her three kids and their doodle, Izzy.
