Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey

The Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey is a live sound bath led by Ottawa-area visitor and Evanston, Illinois musician Preston Klik, presented at the Ottawa Center for the Arts in Ottawa, Illinois. It suits anyone who wants to lie back, listen and let layered, meditative music carry the evening, whether you come for relaxation, for a devotional mood, or simply to try a sound meditation for the first time.

What to Expect

Preston Klik builds the Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey from live instruments and looped sound. His palette includes melodica, didjeridoo, Ocean Drum, crystal bowls, Native American flute, wah-tube, rattles and drums. The session is a listening practice: you receive the sound rather than perform anything, and the music is shaped in the moment.

The afternoon event at the Center for the Arts begins at 4pm. The material does not state how long it runs, so plan to settle in rather than rush in.

About Preston Klik

Preston Klik is a musician based in Evanston, Illinois, who leads live meditative sound journeys. His Shamanic Walkabout concerts are described as both grounding and transcendent, "a healing meditation for some, a psychic music-guided trance-journey for others." Besides the Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey, he offers the OM Gong Experience and gives lessons. His wife, Emily Klik, often shares Cranio-Sacral Therapy with attendees at his events.

Preston and Emily met in the garden at Unity Chicago, after the first "Eight:18 - Circus of the Spirit" celebration, and married in Unity's garden gazebo in 2004, taking the name Klik together.
