Sobre Este Evento

Descrição

This Ayurvedic cleanse retreat takes place at Pranavam Ayurveda in Kozhikode, Kerala, as a guided start to the new year. It is built around an authentic Panchakarma programme, with a personal Ayurvedic doctor, daily yoga and meditation, workshops on Ayurveda, and cultural performances. It suits anyone ready to reset, whether they are dealing with a long-standing health concern or simply want a wellbeing tune-up. Two UK-based Ayurvedic experts, Dmitry Glazkov and Karen of Sadhama, travel with the group and host the stay, with guest yoga teacher Kiranjot.

What to Expect

The retreat is organised as a three-fold journey: Cleanse, Learn, Celebrate.

Cleanse. Each participant is assigned their own Ayurvedic doctor and begins with private consultations. These look at physical, mental and emotional balance as well as your own wellness goals and any health issues you want to address. From there the doctors prepare a customised plan of Panchakarma therapies, traditional Kerala rejuvenation procedures and condition-specific treatments, with herbal formulations taken internally. Two therapy sessions a day are included, and the regimen typically runs to two to four sessions daily. Treatments may include oil massage, steam therapy, Shirodhara (warm oil poured across the forehead), warm herb compresses soaked in ghee for the joints, or a vigorous massage with exfoliating powders. A tailored eating plan supports the work, with breaks for meals and juices and plenty of time to rest.

Learn. An optional study programme runs alongside the treatments, so you can drop into workshops or keep your free time quiet. Topics include dinacharya (daily rhythm), nutrition and lifestyle for your dosha, home remedies for common ailments, marma (vital point) massage, and Ayurvedic cooking. Daily yoga, pranayama and meditation are offered to support the cleanse.

Celebrate. Outings in the local area and performances of traditional South Indian music and dance at the centre give the stay a lighter side. The aim is that you leave with simple, intuitive Ayurvedic guidelines you can keep using at home.

Your Teachers

Dmitry Glazkov of Sadhama teaches personalised Ayurvedic Yoga. His sessions show how to adapt practice to your constitution, current state of balance and needs, with Hatha Yoga shaped for Vata, Pitta and Kapha so you can feel their different effects directly. He also leads morning yoga and is one of your main points of contact during the stay.

Karen of Sadhama specialises in Ayurvedic cookery and diet. She leads the culinary workshops, covering how to choose and prepare foods for your Ayurvedic type and for goals such as better digestion, weight management or energy.

Kiranjot joins as guest teacher, alternating morning classes with Dmitry. She teaches Kundalini yoga, using kriyas of breath, movement, mantra and meditation chosen to support the Panchakarma detox.

The Pranavam team of doctors and therapists also offer their own teachings on Ayurvedic fundamentals.

The Setting

Pranavam Ayurveda sits in tropical Kerala, a serene natural setting chosen so that you step away from daily routines and let your nervous system settle. Accommodation, treatments, consultations and food are all provided within the retreat centre, so there is little to organise once you arrive.

Before You Go

No prior experience of Ayurveda or yoga is needed. The programme is personalised, and the yoga and study sessions are optional. Included are accommodation, consultations, the daily therapy sessions, the herbal formulations, medicated oils and digestive tonics used in the Panchakarma treatments, and meals.
