Mary Magdalene Priestess and Priest Training 2027

The Mary Magdalene Priestess and Priest Training is a one-year online training in the Magdalene–Christos tradition, rooted in Christian mysticism, Aramaic mysticism and the Sophianic Tree of Life. It is open to anyone who feels called to the path, whatever their background, and leads to ordination as a Magdalene priestess or priest. It is taught by Ana Otero, founder of The Desert Rose Mystery School, who is based in Mijas, Málaga, in southern Spain.

What to Expect

The training opens with a Magdalene Shabbat ceremony, which begins the year. From there it moves through thirteen pathways, each a different doorway into the Magdalene–Christos teachings. At the centre is the Magdalene Rosette, a sacred geometric map that draws together contemplative prayer, sacred sound, embodiment, ritual, movement and Sufi-inspired meditation.

The pathways include:

- Magdalene-Christos Shabbat: the mystical rituals of Shabbat, and how to facilitate ceremony in the name of the Magdalene and Yeshua.
- The Living Word: Aramaic mysticism, with study of the letters, the Gospels, and Gnostic and canonical writings, along with chants and prayers.
- Alaha Shela: monthly ceremonies attuned to the cycles of the Moon and the zodiac, and to the Spiral of the Rosa Mystica.
- Womb Mysteries: a path through the Six Magdalene Wombs, for both women and men, with Womb Rites and Desert Rose Womb Transmissions to learn and facilitate. This pathway has been upgraded for the 2027 cohort.
- Sacred Healing: healing with biblical oils in the Myrrhophore tradition, drawing on Ana Otero's study of Essene healing, and the Black Madonna.
- Devotional, New Earth and Mystical pathways: the Aramaic Magdalene Rosary, the Sarah Tamar frequency, the Gospel of Mary and the Dances of the Living Heart.
- Magdalene Ihidaya: six initiations of Divine Union.
- Sound Temple: prayer, chant and frame drum.
- Pathway of Creation, Pathway of Revelation and Ordination.

The 2027 training is expanded in two areas. The Spiral of the Rosa Mystica brings students into relationship with light beings connected to Mary Magdalene, including Sarah Tamar and Mother Anna, and Mother Mary. The Aramaic work goes further into the sacred language of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene, including its Phoenician roots, approached through breath, sound and prayer as well as study.

Teaching combines live online classes with self-paced videos, audio, ebooks and PDFs in a student portal. The page asks for devotion and commitment across the year.

About Ana Otero

Ana Otero is a mystic, author, dancer, yogi and teacher, and the founder of The Desert Rose Mystery School, a school of embodied mysticism rooted in the wisdom of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua. She has spent more than two decades studying and embodying the world's great mystical traditions. Her teaching weaves together the Magdalene–Christos tradition, Christian mysticism, Aramaic, Hebrew mysticism and Sufi spirituality. She holds that spirituality should be lived as well as contemplated, so that creativity becomes prayer, movement becomes meditation and the voice becomes a sacred instrument. She has taught the Mary Magdalene Ministry since 2012.
