Malte Marten – Healing Frequencies Tour, Hamburg

Malte Marten brings his handpan concert to Neue Flora in Hamburg as part of the Healing Frequencies Tour, an evening of live sound healing and meditative music for anyone who wants to slow down and let the day fall away. It suits listeners who already know his music from falling asleep, working or meditating to it, and those who simply want a quiet, unhurried two hours in a room full of people. Malte plays with his trio: Conrado Molina on percussion and Bummela on multiple instruments.

What to Expect

The handpan leads the evening. It is a steel instrument played with the hands, with a warm sound rich in overtones, a bit like bells. Around it, Conrado Molina's percussion and voice and Bummela's multi-instrumental playing build a full, spacious sound that stays intimate even in a large hall.

The concert is shaped from start to finish as one flowing experience rather than a list of songs. The music, the silence between pieces and the stories Malte shares all belong to it. The aim is simple: no pressure, no rush, nowhere else to be, just music, presence and room to breathe. The show runs about two hours, and most concerts on the tour begin at 8 pm, with doors usually opening 75 minutes earlier. Exact times are shown on the ticket.

About Malte Marten

Malte Marten describes himself as a handpan player at his core, and as a musician, teacher and visionary. His path began in 2014, when he came across a video of the duo Hang Massive. He sold all the music equipment he owned as a beatmaker and DJ to buy his first handpan, and he later played on the streets of Berlin.

From 2015 to 2020 he toured with his former duo, Yatao, and teaching became a passion alongside performing. The duo gave workshops and retreats and co-founded the YataoShop, a place for people to take their first steps with the instrument. In 2021 the duo's project ended and Malte began his solo work, funding his first solo studio album through crowdfunding. His videos on Instagram and YouTube have since reached listeners around the world, and his music has reached millions. His work rests on one idea: music can create space to slow down, breathe and reconnect with yourself.

Neue Flora is in Altona, Hamburg. Holstenstraße S-Bahn station is right around the corner, which makes arriving by public transport straightforward.

Before You Go

No experience with the handpan or with meditation is needed. The evening asks only that you listen. All seats at the tour's venues are seated, so you can settle in and stay comfortable throughout. Child tickets are available for ages 12 and up, and wheelchair spaces can be arranged with the tour team ahead of time.
