Sobre Este Evento

Descrição

The Immersive Restorative Retreat is a week-long yoga and osteopathy retreat on the south coast of Sri Lanka, led by Rosie Markwick at Soul House in Ahangama, Galle. It is for people who want a restorative yoga retreat built around slowing down, rather than a week of pushing harder, and who are curious about what the body can do when it is given the right conditions to recalibrate.

The retreat is described as a return to the body rather than an escape from life. The invitation is to slow down enough to listen, and to see what becomes possible when rest, movement and bodywork are brought together over eight days by the sea.

What to Expect

The week combines yoga, osteopathy and deep restoration. The emphasis is on restorative practice: giving the body space to settle, release and reset, instead of working toward a performance goal. Osteopathy sits alongside the yoga as part of the same idea, that the body recalibrates when conditions are right.

The retreat runs for one week, and the whole of it is spent in one place, which allows the pace to stay unhurried. The organizer does not publish a daily timetable or session times, so the exact rhythm of each day is best confirmed with the hosts.

About Rosie Markwick

Rosie Markwick leads the retreat, which is presented as a collaboration between Rosie and Issy. Her approach, as the retreat describes it, joins yoga and osteopathy in a single week of restoration, with a focus on listening to the body and giving it room to recalibrate.

The Setting

Soul House is a retreat house in Ahangama, on Sri Lanka's south coast in the Galle district. The house has a fully equipped yoga shala and serves nourishing, Ayurvedic-inspired meals, and it is designed to support people on retreat. The coastal setting suits a week of rest: warm air, the sea nearby and a tropical landscape that encourages slowing down.

Before You Go

This retreat is framed as an invitation to rest and listen, so it is a good fit for anyone drawn to restorative yoga, whether or not they have practised for long. If you have specific questions about injuries, fitness or what the osteopathy sessions involve, it is worth asking the hosts before you travel, so you arrive knowing what to expect.
