De Jason Stephenson - Guided Sleep Meditation

Assistir · 8

Picture a bedroom in the last hour before sleep, the lamp off, the blanket pulled to the chin, and a voice asking you to stop trying. That is the opening move of a long guided sleep meditation by Jason Stephenson, titled "Rest Safely Among the Stars." Its central idea is simple and unusually disciplined: you do not fall asleep by working at it. You fall asleep by letting the body go soft, piece by piece, until awareness has nothing left to hold, and then letting that softened body become a single glowing light that drifts up through the open sky above the rooftops. The recording moves through a body scan that begins at the crown of the head and ends at the toes, followed by a visualization in which the listener floats over a village, town, or city into a field of constellations. What makes it worth a closer look is how carefully the instructions are built. Nearly every line is a cue to notice, not a command to achieve, and that difference is the whole craft of the piece.

Why does a sleep meditation start by telling you not to try?

The video opens with a reassurance that reframes the entire session. In the first moments, Stephenson says that you can fall asleep "swiftly, not by rushing to get there, but instead letting yourself be carried." He follows it with a line that works as the thesis of the whole recording: "Sleep isn't something that you have to chase." Around the two-minute mark he adds that even his own words "can be held lightly," and that the listener can let awareness "ebb and flow" through the guidance rather than follow every word.

This matters because most people who struggle to sleep are, in a quiet way, trying harder. The mind checks the clock, reviews the day, and treats falling asleep as a task with a deadline. A guided meditation that opens by removing the task changes the posture of the listener from effort to permission. The recording is explicit about this later, too. Stephenson notes that the invitations to surrender, release, or let go "are not instructions to forcefully push anything away." Instead, he says, they are cues to let "your body and mind do what they already know how to do," which is to soften. For a listener, the practical takeaway is that the words are a set of gentle handholds, not a test to pass.

How does the body scan move through the body?

The body scan follows a deliberate sequence: head, face, neck, shoulders, arms, heart, upper back, spine, belly, pelvis, legs, and finally the whole body as one field of light. The order is not arbitrary. Starting at the crown lets the listener release the thinking mind first, since that is where most of the restlessness lives. The recording asks the listener to let "the inner workings of your mind gently melt," and to imagine "tiny points of twinkling light" behind closed eyes. Only after the head is settled does attention move downward into the neck and shoulders.

The shoulders get a particularly specific cue. Stephenson suggests that "with every outbreath, you can remind your shoulders to relax. There's nothing they need to carry." At roughly the seven-minute mark, he offers an image that doubles as a sensory anchor: a subtle presence of twinkling light falling on the shoulders "like a celestial cloak." This pattern recurs throughout. Each body region gets a physical instruction (soften, release, unravel) paired with a visual one (starlight, a glimmer, a ribbon of light). Pairing sensation with imagery gives the scattered mind something concrete to stay with, and that is often what keeps attention from sliding into planning.

The arms section shows the same logic at a smaller scale. The listener is asked to melt "through the muscle and bone" of the arms, to let the wrists find ease, and to invite the hands to loosen "any urge to clean or control." The phrase "any urge to clean or control" is worth noticing. It names a subtle form of tension that many people carry without realizing it: the habit of managing things even while the body is supposed to be resting.

What is the starlight cocoon, and why does the visualization use it?

Once the body has been scanned, the recording asks the listener to imagine that "your entire body is glowing with dozens and then hundreds, and then thousands of tiny points of light." These points then merge "into one single light body" that becomes a soft cocoon, a "celestial cradle." This is the image that gives the video its title and its emotional center. The cocoon is not a spaceship or a journey with a destination. It is a shape of safety that the listener rests inside.

The visualization begins at about 16 minutes and 22 seconds, according to the video's own chapter listing, and the first move is lift. The cocoon rises, the listener drifts "through the space of your home," above the "village, town, or city you reside in," and into "the velvety blue sparkling cosmos." Stephenson is careful here as well. He says you "don't need to force yourself to float higher," and that you can simply "soften your grip on the waking world so that your consciousness can naturally drift higher." The ascent is framed as a loosening, not an exertion.

There is also a deliberate sense of scale in the imagery. Infinite stars glow "some very distant and some a bit closer," and the cocoon carries the listener "in and out of constellations" through "a space where time has no meaning." For someone lying awake with the anxieties of tomorrow, that loss of time can be a relief. The visualization does not ask the mind to solve anything. It asks it to widen.

What do the repeated phrases "I am safe and held" actually do?

Two short phrases carry the emotional weight of the recording. The first appears as the listener follows the ribbon of starlight down the spine: "I am safe and held in this moment." The second comes later, as the visualization deepens: "I am held in this moment as I am." Both are repeated twice in the recording, and the repetition is the point. A phrase said slowly, with a breath between each word, gives the mind a rhythm to rest on when thoughts begin to race. It is a sleep-onset tool as much as a statement of intent.

The second phrase takes the idea further. The guidance says that "whatever thoughts, emotions, or stories are moving through you tonight, it's okay." It adds that "the stars, the night sky and the soft cocoon beneath you can hold it all," and that "you don't need to force anything to leave you to be different than it is." This is a notably gentle stance. Rather than asking the listener to clear the mind before sleep, the recording says the mind can be held as it is. The things that "don't serve you" are described as softening and dissipating naturally once they are received with compassion, not pushed away.

Later in the recording, the guidance becomes even more minimal. Around the 43-minute mark, Stephenson offers the phrase "Nothing to fix." It is a useful reminder of what the whole session has been trying to do. It asks nothing of the listener except to notice that nothing needs repair before sleep can arrive.

What should a listener keep in mind before pressing play?

The recording is long, and its pace is slow on purpose. Stephenson leaves wide gaps between phrases, and the instructions often trail off into the sensation of a breath. That is the intended experience, but it also means the listener should choose a moment when they are already lying down and ready to rest. The video's own description and its on-screen notice are clear on two points worth repeating here. The meditation is not intended as a substitute for professional medical or counselling advice, and listeners should not drive or operate machinery while listening. A sleep meditation is designed to dissolve alertness, and that is precisely why the warning exists.

There is a second, quieter lesson in the structure. Stephenson tells the listener early on that if the attention wanders, they can "anchor your attention back into" the bed and the earth beneath it at any point. That instruction is worth remembering for the whole session. Drifting off the thread of the words is not failure. The recording treats every return to the body as the same kind of return to rest.

Where to go from here

If the ideas here appeal, the most direct next step is to listen to the full recording with the structure in mind. Notice the sequence from head to toe, the way each body region is paired with a light, and the moment the cocoon begins to lift. On a second listen, try to catch the difference between an invitation and an instruction, and see whether the words land more easily when you treat them as cues rather than goals. The video's own description also points to a free meditation download, a presave link for a newer audio release, and a range of listening platforms, all of which are available from the creator's channel and social pages. For a listener who wants to go deeper into the craft of sleep meditation, the lesson here is that the most effective instructions often ask the least. They open a door, lower the lights, and let the body do what it already knows how to do.

[0:03] Tonight.

[0:04] You fall asleep swiftly,

[0:08] not by rushing to get there,

[0:11] but instead letting yourself be carried.

[0:18] Whatever you're holding in this moment,

[0:21] be attention or stress.

[0:24] Thoughts about the past or future.

[0:29] The fullness of you is welcome here.

[0:33] Breath by breath.

[0:36] You'll be supported in letting it all go.

[0:41] So that you can get the deep rest you need.

[0:47] My name is Jason Stephenson,

[0:49] and I'm honored to be your guide tonight.

[0:55] If you're new to these meditations, welcome.

[1:00] And if you've practice with me before,

[1:03] it's a gift to have you here again.

[1:10] If you haven't already, take your time

[1:13] to settle into your sleep space.

[1:20] Let your head melt into your pillow.

[1:25] And your body.

[1:26] Beaker Kund in sheets or blankets.

[1:31] And take a slow, steady, deep breath in.

[1:37] And gently let it go.

[1:43] Another slow,

[1:44] soft, expansive breath in.

[1:50] And let it go.

[1:56] Breathing naturally now.

[2:00] And as you prepare for this meditation,

[2:04] know there's nothing you need to make happen.

[2:09] Sleep isn't

[2:11] something that you have to chase.

[2:14] And even my words can be held lightly.

[2:19] Just allow your awareness to ebb

[2:22] and flow through my guidance,

[2:26] and very soon

[2:28] you'll have drifted off to sleep.

[2:36] Now, just take a few quiet

[2:39] moments to feel the surface beneath you.

[2:47] Feel the support and warmth of your bed

[2:51] and how unconditionally

[2:53] your held in this moment.

[3:01] No matter where you drift

[3:03] in your mind's eye tonight,

[3:06] the bed and the earth beneath

[3:08] you will be continually supporting you.

[3:13] You can anchor your attention back into it

[3:16] at any point along the way if you need to.

[3:24] But now draw your attention

[3:27] to the crown of your head

[3:30] and invite this part of your body

[3:34] and your forehead

[3:37] to gently soften with a few effortless

[3:41] exhales.

[3:53] Imagine softness wrapping itself

[3:55] around your temples.

[4:00] And smoothing out your brow line.

[4:09] Let this gentle release expand

[4:12] throughout your entire face.

[4:20] Letting the sides of your head

[4:22] soften as well.

[4:27] And the back of your head to.

[4:35] Invite all of the inner

[4:37] workings of your mind to gently melt.

[4:42] Untangling with an outbreath.

[4:50] And perhaps

[4:51] imagining that as your head relaxes

[4:56] both physically and mentally.

[4:59] Tiny points of twinkling light

[5:03] appear behind your closed eyes.

[5:10] Fragments of starlight,

[5:12] if you like.

[5:23] Your entire head

[5:25] surrenders to the pillow beneath it,

[5:28] feeling lighter

[5:30] and more spacious than when you first arrived here.

[5:41] And then allow your awareness

[5:44] to flow down the sides of your neck,

[5:48] inviting these muscles

[5:50] to gently release any tension

[5:53] they may be carrying.

[6:05] Soften all the way down

[6:07] through your neck muscles

[6:11] before settling on your shoulders

[6:13] for a few soft breaths.

[6:21] With every outbreath,

[6:24] you can remind your shoulders to relax.

[6:28] There's nothing they need to carry.

[6:35] And if it helps,

[6:38] you might imagine a subtle presence of twinkling light

[6:43] falling upon them like a celestial cloak.

[6:47] A nudge, if you like, from the night sky

[6:51] to surrender.

[7:02] As we move through this meditation,

[7:06] know that all invitations to surrender,

[7:11] to release,

[7:13] or to let go.

[7:16] They're not instructions to forcefully

[7:18] push anything away.

[7:22] Rather, you can use them as cues

[7:26] to let your body and mind do what they already know how to do

[7:33] soften.

[7:33] They grip.

[7:46] Continue to let your breath flow

[7:49] naturally in the background of your awareness.

[7:53] As your attention moves down your arms.

[8:02] Inviting the muscles and bones in your upper arms

[8:06] to soften.

[8:11] Encouraging your elbows to let go.

[8:19] Melting and grounding through the muscle

[8:22] and bone of your four arms.

[8:31] Your wrists find ease.

[8:39] Congenitally unraveling

[8:41] into the palms of your hands.

[8:45] Inviting both hands

[8:47] to loosen any urge to clean

[8:51] or control.

[9:02] From your shoulders

[9:04] to the tip of each finger.

[9:08] Your arms completely surrender.

[9:13] Melting into a subtle presence of starlight.

[9:18] Feeling lighter.

[9:22] And lighter.

[9:25] And lighter.

[9:37] Slowly,

[9:39] your awareness travels up

[9:42] and over to your heart space,

[9:46] not rushing to get there,

[9:49] taking its own time.

[10:02] And as you land in your heart,

[10:06] invite a few compassionate,

[10:08] cleansing breaths to flow through this part of you.

[10:19] With each in-breath,

[10:22] a gentle expansion fills your chest.

[10:29] With each outbreath.

[10:33] The subtle, loving art of surrender.

[10:48] You might also invite

[10:50] that subtle shimmer of starlight

[10:53] to appear in your heart,

[10:56] infusing it with universal compassion.

[11:08] Feel a growing sense of ease and lightness,

[11:11] expanding out through your ribs.

[11:18] And into your upper back body.

[11:32] Now sense or imagine

[11:35] that a gentle trail of stars

[11:37] wraps itself around your spine,

[11:42] guiding your nervous system to settle.

[11:53] And as you follow

[11:54] that ribbon of starlight down your spine,

[11:59] you might like to silently repeat,

[12:03] I am safe and held in this moment.

[12:11] I am safe and held in this moment.

[12:25] Travel down your spine

[12:26] until you land in the softness of your belly.

[12:37] Let your stomach rise gently

[12:40] on the in-breath.

[12:44] Melting on the outbreath.

[12:56] Now soften through the entirety

[12:59] of your pelvis area.

[13:05] Grounding down through your tailbone.

[13:12] And for a breath or two,

[13:15] imagine tiny glimmers of light

[13:18] swirling around your hips.

[13:23] Dissolving any tension or stress

[13:26] that may be held there.

[13:40] Let your entire abdomen become a little lighter

[13:45] than before.

[13:56] And slowly and gently

[13:59] your awareness flows down your legs.

[14:05] And calming celestial energy

[14:09] soothes and softens your thighs.

[14:17] Offers ease and release to your knees.

[14:25] Guide your calves to soften and surrender.

[14:34] And it soothes and restores your ankles.

[14:42] And pulls

[14:43] with ease and lightness in your feet. Now.

[14:49] Dissolving any tension or heaviness

[14:52] that they hold.

[15:04] From your hips to your toes.

[15:09] Your legs are becoming lighter,

[15:13] more relaxed and spacious.

[15:18] Releasing the need to chase anything

[15:21] or take you anywhere.

[15:34] Now take a few breaths into your whole body,

[15:39] inviting fresh,

[15:41] restorative oxygen into every cell

[15:45] as you breathe in.

[15:56] Softening,

[15:58] surrendering,

[16:01] releasing with a gentle sigh

[16:04] as you breathe out.

[16:22] Breathe naturally now.

[16:26] And begin to imagine that your entire body

[16:30] is a glow with dozens

[16:33] and then hundreds,

[16:36] and then thousands of tiny points of light.

[16:49] Envision this inner starlight

[16:53] beginning to glow brighter

[16:57] and soon merging into one single light body.

[17:14] Sensory

[17:15] in that this single presence of light

[17:18] becomes a soft cocoon.

[17:23] And feel your body resting safely

[17:26] within that celestial cradle.

[17:36] Now, when you're ready,

[17:39] imagine that this luminous cradle or cocoon

[17:45] begins to lift you towards the night sky.

[17:57] See yourself

[17:59] drifting safely and securely

[18:03] through the space of your home.

[18:08] Above the village, town, or city

[18:12] you reside in.

[18:16] And into the quiet of open air,

[18:21] into the velvety blue

[18:24] sparkling cosmos.

[18:37] You don't need to force yourself

[18:40] to float higher to go anywhere.

[18:45] Simply give yourself permission

[18:49] to soften your grip on the waking world

[18:54] so that your consciousness

[18:55] can naturally drift higher.

[19:14] Let your mind slowly

[19:15] and gently widened to the imagery

[19:19] of that serene and safe cosmic expanse.

[19:26] Infinite stars glow around you,

[19:30] some very distant and some a bit closer.

[19:39] The starlit cocoon carries

[19:42] you in and out of constellations.

[19:47] Through a space where time has no meaning.

[19:53] And into a greater sense of connection

[19:57] with the care and wisdom of the universe.

[20:07] That connection is not something

[20:09] you have to think your way through.

[20:14] Simply allow it to be felt.

[20:36] As you float,

[20:38] you continue to be aware

[20:40] of the celestial cradle supporting you.

[20:45] Like the stars.

[20:48] It is wise and loving

[20:51] and it is also ancient.

[20:57] It has borne witness to centuries

[20:59] and centuries of stories and experiences,

[21:05] so it is capable of holding you

[21:08] and supporting you exactly as you are.

[21:16] In other words,

[21:19] whatever thoughts, emotions,

[21:22] or stories are moving through you tonight,

[21:26] it's okay.

[21:30] The stars,

[21:32] the night sky and the soft cocoon beneath

[21:35] you can hold it all.

[21:43] You don't need to force

[21:45] anything to leave you

[21:48] to be different than it is.

[21:53] You're simply invited

[21:55] to let yourself be held

[21:58] with unconditional compassion

[22:02] by the universe all around and within you.

[22:19] And when you allow yourself

[22:21] to receive this compassion.

[22:25] The things that don't serve you,

[22:29] the things that hold you back from deep rest,

[22:33] will naturally soften and dissipate.

[22:45] If it helps,

[22:47] you might silently repeat.

[22:51] I am held in this moment as I am.

[22:59] I am held in this moment

[23:03] as I am.

[23:17] Now. Feel the air

[23:19] that flows through your lungs.

[23:25] Feel the subtle coolness of each inhale.

[23:32] And the subtle warmth of each exhale.

[23:44] And let your mind float amongst the stars

[23:48] as your body does.

[23:53] Notice the way that each

[23:55] star sparkles like a diamond.

[24:00] And notice as well the serenity that each one

[24:04] embodies.

[24:13] Stars are not trying to go anywhere

[24:18] to fix anything,

[24:21] to control the future.

[24:26] They embody a sense of groundedness.

[24:28] Even though they floating in space.

[24:34] They are calm

[24:36] and steady.

[24:52] With each star that you pass.

[24:56] Notice your mind becoming quieter.

[25:01] And the further you drift,

[25:05] the further the waking world becomes.

[25:19] Calmness and quiet

[25:21] you'd is becoming infused in every cell

[25:25] and nerve fiber of your being.

[25:32] But if there's still mental

[25:34] or emotional movement, that too is okay.

[25:42] For any ruminating

[25:44] or worried thoughts that appear,

[25:48] you might like to see them manifest

[25:50] as shooting stars.

[25:57] And just like shooting stars, they appear

[26:02] and then they disappear.

[26:05] They come

[26:08] and they go.

[26:13] Nothing needs to be controlled

[26:15] or latched on to.

[26:19] Because while there's a time

[26:21] and place for planning and thinking,

[26:26] now is the time to rest.

[26:30] Now is the time to let yourself

[26:32] savor stillness, surrender,

[26:36] and quietude.

[27:04] Despite the fact that your consciousness is drifting,

[27:09] you can always anchor

[27:11] yourself in your breath.

[27:14] Feel the nourishment of each inhale.

[27:19] And the reminder to soften as you exhale.

[27:34] And as you float,

[27:37] recognize that you're not alone.

[27:41] You're carried in, accompanied

[27:43] by a loving, benevolent universe

[27:48] represented as the cradle

[27:50] of starlight beneath you.

[27:54] And furthermore,

[27:57] you can feel the guardianship of the stars

[28:00] all around you.

[28:08] Deepen your awareness

[28:09] of how ancient they are.

[28:13] Humans across countless centuries

[28:17] have looked up at these very same stars

[28:21] you now are drifting through.

[28:28] Feel the way they light blanket you,

[28:33] and now the stars seem to whisper.

[28:37] We've got you.

[28:41] We've got you.

[29:05] Stars can also be guardians

[29:07] of our intentions.

[29:11] So take a moment now

[29:14] before you drift off to sleep.

[29:17] To consider what you'd like to cultivate

[29:21] or embody as you move through tomorrow.

[29:35] Let your heart's highest intent

[29:38] become crystal clear as a single word

[29:42] or sentence.

[29:46] Then whisper that word

[29:48] or sentence to a star of your choosing

[29:52] three times.

[30:15] Take your time with this

[30:19] sinking into quietude.

[30:22] After those three repetitions.

[30:39] And you can release your intention. Now.

[30:44] You don't have to cling to it

[30:46] or plan for it.

[30:49] Just allow the universe to hold it for you.

[30:55] Recognize that

[30:56] just by stating it with crystal clarity,

[31:01] it has been heard.

[31:06] The seed of your heart's intent

[31:08] has been planted in the stars,

[31:12] and there's nothing you need to do now

[31:15] to make it happen.

[31:22] In fact,

[31:25] whatever your intention might be,

[31:29] you can best serve it by reeling,

[31:31] letting yourself rest now.

[31:37] Whatever focus, energy, care,

[31:41] or presence your intention will require from you tomorrow,

[31:47] a night of deep sleep will support it.

[31:53] So deepen back into the quiet dude within

[31:59] and all around you.

[32:04] Into the serenity of the starlight.

[32:09] Into the spaciousness of the vast sky.

[32:19] Into the knowledge that in this moment,

[32:23] there's absolutely nothing you need to do,

[32:27] be, fix or solve.

[32:31] Rather than holding anything up,

[32:35] you can let yourself be carried.

[33:00] Some stars appear very close to you now,

[33:04] some even close enough to touch.

[33:11] You can let your fingers

[33:13] stretch in their direction,

[33:16] and as they permeate the stars orbit,

[33:21] feel a current of pure white starlight

[33:25] flow through you.

[33:30] It enters through your fingertips.

[33:35] Travels along your arm and into your chest.

[33:42] And from your heart.

[33:44] This luminous starlight extends

[33:47] through your body in all directions.

[33:52] Dissolving any tension or worry

[33:56] that might bubble back up to the surface.

[34:22] Nothing is being pushed away.

[34:27] You're simply allowing the stars to dissolve

[34:30] or does not need your attention at this time.

[34:36] There will be future waking hours to manage

[34:39] all that needs to be managed.

[34:56] Notice

[34:57] now that particles of stardust in the atmosphere,

[35:02] a forming rivers of shimmering light.

[35:07] Soft trails

[35:09] of celestial luminosity that we've through the midnight

[35:13] blue sky.

[35:21] These rivers of starlight

[35:23] lead all cosmic travelers deeper into sleep.

[35:30] So imagine your celestial cradle

[35:34] carrying you into the gentle flow

[35:37] of this starlight River.

[35:42] And notice the way you're drifting

[35:45] with greater intention towards sleep,

[35:50] never with force,

[35:53] but naturally

[35:55] with letting go.

[36:17] Let your attention

[36:18] to my words gradually soften

[36:21] so that you can transition into sleep at any time.

[36:27] But if you're still here,

[36:30] I'll continue to guide you through this space

[36:33] for a little while.

[36:38] As you drift,

[36:41] notice what it feels like in your body

[36:44] to be held in this liminal space.

[36:49] A space somewhere between the waking world

[36:53] and deep sleep.

[37:02] What it feels like to be held by starlight.

[37:09] To be surrounded by starlight,

[37:13] and to be guided by starlight.

[37:28] And one last time

[37:31] you can allow the luminescence of the stars

[37:34] to journey through your body.

[37:39] Guiding it into deeper

[37:40] layers of rest and release.

[37:47] So begin by feeling the way

[37:50] the stars permeate the crown of your head,

[37:55] expanding your mind to receive the care,

[38:00] serenity, and peace of the universe.

[38:13] Imagine the starlight

[38:15] stretching across your forehead,

[38:19] smoothing out any tension or tightness.

[38:30] Then imagine it

[38:31] gently massaging your temples,

[38:35] guiding your mind into deeper,

[38:39] deeper release.

[38:54] Warm this loving,

[38:56] shimmering presence to bathe your entire face.

[39:05] Let it soften your cheeks.

[39:10] Unclench your jaw.

[39:14] Dissolving any knots of tension

[39:17] stored anywhere in your face.

[39:30] And imagine your entire head,

[39:33] the sides, the back,

[39:37] and the inner workings of your mind

[39:40] to equally be infused

[39:42] with this restorative glow.

[39:49] That your entire head and thinking mind

[39:53] surrendered to it completely.

[40:09] Now imagine the light

[40:11] flowing down the sides of your neck,

[40:14] loosening any knots it might discover their.

[40:29] Then feel it

[40:30] wrap around your shoulders once more.

[40:34] A soft, serene and loving embrace.

[40:42] It almost whispers

[40:44] to your shoulders to soften.

[40:48] It reminds them

[40:50] that there's nothing you need to carry here.

[40:55] That it's you who can now be held.

[41:04] Inch by inch.

[41:07] Welcome the light into every cell,

[41:10] bone and muscle of your arms.

[41:14] Cascading all the way

[41:16] down to your fingertips.

[41:22] Imagine your palms widening

[41:25] gently to receive this light,

[41:28] as if quietly affirming.

[41:32] I release my grip completely now.

[41:38] I release my grip completely now.

[41:52] And remember that all the while

[41:56] you are still being carried

[41:58] along the river of starlight,

[42:02] pitching closer and closer

[42:05] and closer to a deep and serene sleep.

[42:20] Sense into your heart

[42:23] as the stars above send their love

[42:26] and light and warmth into your entire chest.

[42:34] Allow it to soften

[42:36] and soothe your breathing.

[42:41] To nurture your heart with universal care.

[42:50] And to you in the peace

[42:52] and stillness that resides at your core.

[43:09] Nothing to fix.

[43:13] Nothing to seek.

[43:17] Nowhere to be but here.

[43:20] Drifting on a current of stardust

[43:23] toward sleep.

[43:39] With your next couple of breaths.

[43:43] Feel the way your upper back

[43:45] expands gently with each inhale.

[43:52] And imagine that it to feels

[43:55] with a theory or light.

[44:07] And follow the light down into your belly.

[44:12] Calming your nervous system

[44:14] as it descends your spine.

[44:20] Soothing and relaxing

[44:22] all the muscles in your back.

[44:29] Filling your belly with that subtle,

[44:32] warm, restorative glow.

[44:45] Let your stomach rise

[44:47] naturally as you inhale.

[44:51] And melt as you exhale.

[45:08] Now welcome the light

[45:10] all the way down to the base of your spine.

[45:18] Into your entire pelvis.

[45:24] And out to both of your hips.

[45:34] Let the light come and soften this entire area.

[45:40] Any tension melting into the

[45:42] love and care of the cosmos.

[45:59] And finally,

[46:01] feel the way the stars above

[46:04] shine down upon your legs.

[46:09] Their light infusing every cell,

[46:13] bone and muscle

[46:16] blowing all the way down to your toes.

[46:28] And as you come to feel

[46:30] the light filling your feet,

[46:34] really allow them now to surrender

[46:36] completely for the night.

[46:40] There's nowhere they need to take you,

[46:44] neither physically or figuratively.

[46:49] You're simply being carried.

[47:04] Your awareness widens

[47:06] back out to the cosmic expanse surrounding you,

[47:11] and you feel completely at one with it all.

[47:18] There's no separation

[47:20] between you and the stars,

[47:24] and you feel that deep in your bones. Now

[47:29] their peace is your peace.

[47:34] Their serenity is your serenity.

[47:41] The stillness

[47:42] that surrounds you as a stillness that you to embody.

[47:49] And it will soon transition

[47:51] into the stillness of slumber.

[48:06] Let your inner

[48:07] eye float through this cosmic landscape

[48:12] for just a few more moments.

[48:16] Absorbing the wonder

[48:18] and the majesty of the stars and the space

[48:22] they're suspended in.

[48:31] Notice the Stardust River

[48:33] that guide you toward slumber.

[48:39] The celestial cradle of starlight

[48:42] beneath you.

[48:48] And notice to

[48:50] the serene cosmic lullaby that flows

[48:53] through your ears.

[49:04] In just a few breaths,

[49:07] the imagery will dissipate,

[49:10] but the music will continue to carry you.

[49:15] It will be a bridge to carry you.

[49:18] That final stretch into sleep.

[49:24] So marvel at the starlight

[49:27] for just a few more intentional,

[49:30] loving breaths.

[49:40] And let the imagery dissolve

[49:43] when you're ready.

[49:53] There's nothing left to imagine,

[49:57] nothing left to feel, release, or explore.

[50:05] All that remains is deep sleep.

[50:10] And it's just up ahead.

[50:14] Just a few breaths away.

[50:21] Let the music carry you there.

[50:26] And until next time.

[50:30] Good night, my friend.

[50:33] Good night.

A body scan moves attention slowly through the body and pairs each region with a cue to soften or release. In this recording, the sequence runs from the crown of the head down to the toes, which lets the restless thinking mind settle before the body follows. The repeated invitations to let go give the listener something gentle to do instead of trying to force sleep.
The guide, Jason Stephenson, says early in the recording that sleep is not something you have to chase. Trying harder to sleep often keeps the mind alert and goal-focused. Framing the session as permission and release is meant to shift the listener out of effort and into rest.
The listener imagines the whole body glowing with points of light that merge into a single soft cocoon, described as a celestial cradle. The cocoon lifts the listener above their home and town into a starlit sky. The image gives the mind a sense of safety and scale without asking it to solve anything.
It is a self-compassion phrase that invites the listener to rest without first clearing away their thoughts or emotions. The recording says whatever is moving through the mind tonight is okay, and that it can be held rather than pushed away. Repeating the phrase slowly gives the mind a steady rhythm to return to.
The recording's own notice says it is not a substitute for professional medical or counselling advice, and that anyone with a physical or mental illness should seek professional help. It also warns listeners not to drive or operate machinery while listening. If sleep problems persist, a qualified health professional is the right person to consult.
The guide advises that you can anchor your attention back into the bed and the earth beneath you at any point. Drifting off the thread of the words is not a failure. Each return to the body is treated as a return to rest, so you can simply come back to the breath and the sensation of support.
