Abundance Affirmations for Sleep: An 8-Hour Session Decoded

Two minutes into an eight-hour recording, a calm voice tells the listener, "You were born to be abundant. We all are." What stands in the way, the script says, is "old conditioning and old limited programming" that has blocked a person's ability to receive what is "natural and available" to them. That claim sets the terms for everything that follows in Jess Shepherd's abundance affirmation session, published by Rising Higher Meditation: a long, repeating script of present-tense statements about money, luck and worthiness, laid over slow music and meant to be played as the listener drifts off. The recording asks to be heard "every night for 30 nights or more." This piece looks at how the track is built, what its language is doing, and what a listener should weigh before they hit play.

What is an abundance affirmation sleep session?

The format is simple. A spoken script of affirmations runs over soft, unhurried music, and the listener is invited to fall asleep while it plays. Shepherd, who the channel describes as an energy therapist from the Gold Coast, Australia, frames the session as "cognitive reprogramming," the idea that statements repeated at the edge of sleep can reshape the beliefs a person holds about their own worth and their money.

The opening line makes the ambition plain: "Tonight we become the frequency of abundance" (recording, 0:02). The track speaks of aligning with "the quantum field of abundant possibilities" and letting "this universal law of attraction go to work." Those are metaphors, and the recording uses them as such. Abundance is treated as a signal to tune into, like a radio station, and the listener's job is to adjust the dial. One line makes the metaphor explicit: "I have my radio dial set to abundance and this is what keeps coming."

Why does the script say "I am" instead of "I will"?

Most people who have tried goal-setting know the future-tense version: I will earn more, I will feel secure, I will be generous someday. Present-tense affirmation works differently. It claims the state as already true, and it asks the listener to stand inside that claim rather than wait for it. The track is full of these declaratives: "I am so abundant." "I am the energy of prosperity." "I am wealthy in every way."

What makes the script more than a list of slogans is that its grammar moves in stages. It begins with identity, then shifts to permission and receiving. "I am an open vessel for abundance, always ready to receive." "I am happy to receive. I am grateful to receive. I am worthy of receiving." The sequence matters. A listener who does not yet feel prosperous is being asked first to accept that they are allowed to receive, and only then to feel rich. The recording makes the same move in its line about receiving: "Receiving prosperity feels natural, safe, and deeply aligned with who I truly am" (recording, 53:28). The emotional target is safety as much as money.

How does the track loop, and why does that matter?

Read the transcript closely and a structural pattern emerges. The opening block, with its "Isn't it wonderful? I am so abundant" and its lines about the universe finding "synchronistic ways to give to me," returns almost word for word well into the session. The question "How is it that I am so abundant?" appears at roughly 5:41 and again at about 3:14:00 (recording). The same phrases come back in new combinations: the universe "keeps finding" the speaker, money "keeps flooding in," good things "keep finding me."

This repetition is doing practical work. Repetition is how memorization happens, and a drowsy listener who misses a line will pick it up on the next pass. It also means the track is designed to be heard in fragments. Most people will not hear all eight hours, and a loop means the core statements will reach them anyway. Listeners who want to engage with the script in full should expect to hear the same ideas many times, not new arguments.

What does the track ask a listener to believe?

Beneath the imagery sits a set of working beliefs, and they are worth naming because they shape how the track feels to hear. The first is that mindset and money are linked: "The more optimistic and grateful I am, the more money keeps flooding in." The second is that the barrier is internal: "Every time I get resistance out of the way, I can receive all the blessings that are waiting for me." The third is that a benevolent intelligence is in charge of outcomes: "The infinite intelligence wants me to succeed." The recording uses "the universe," "source" and "infinite intelligence" more or less interchangeably, and it asks the listener to feel loved by all three.

Gratitude is treated as a tool, not a feeling to be waited for. The script moves from the grand to the small with an almost cumulative rhythm: "I am grateful for every dollar, for every hundred, for every thousand, for every million." The most vivid images are the most physical ones. "Money is overflowing out from under my mattress. It is on the streets." "Millions of dollars are finding me" (recording, 3:30:41). The more concrete the image, the harder it is for a skeptical listener to hold at arm's length, and that seems to be part of the design.

Where does the sleep music fit?

The channel's description promises affirmations "mixed with super relaxing sleep music," and the chapter list places the music-only stretch at 7:50:00. The affirmations are the part a listener can attend to; the music is what makes it possible to stop attending. That split is the real product here. A track like this is less a lesson to absorb than an environment to fall asleep inside, with the words functioning as a soft, repeated background of intention.

What should a listener weigh before playing it?

The video makes large claims. Its description says the session will "rewire and reprogram your subconscious mind WHILE YOU SLEEP" and promises a "quantum shift." The material offers no studies, results or testimonials to support those claims, so they should be read as the producer's promise rather than a documented outcome. Whether repeated affirmations change belief or behavior, and whether anything registers during sleep, are open questions, and this track does not settle them.

There is also a practical gap. Affirmations about money do not, by themselves, change a budget, a debt, or a job. The track never addresses those, and a listener who treats it as a substitute for financial action may find the gap uncomfortable. The more useful reading is as a mindset practice that sits alongside whatever concrete steps a person is already taking.

The description offers its own instructions for listening: "Get into a comfortable position, close your eyes and relax, breathe deeply and allow these words to become your own." Taking that literally, the most reasonable approach is to play it at low volume, notice which lines land and which provoke resistance, and pay attention to the resistance. The track itself frames resistance as the obstacle, so the friction a listener feels may be the most honest data the session produces.

Where to go from here

• Listen to the first ten minutes awake, with attention, before using the full track as a sleep aid. Notice which present-tense claims you can accept and which you cannot.
• Try a shorter version of the practice: pick two or three lines, repeat them for a week, and track how you feel rather than what you earn.
• If you want to build your own sessions, the description points to Shepherd's app, In2Bliss, which it says lets listeners design their own reprogramming practice.
• Read the transcript yourself to see the loops and the grammatical progression from identity to receiving. Seeing the structure on the page makes it easier to hear it on the recording.
