Ravé Mehta is an award-winning composer, pianist and bestselling author, and the recipient of the Tesla Vision Award from the Tesla Science Foundation. He has spent more than 15 years researching the science behind fear, flow and music, looking for a deeper understanding of how people can reach more of their innate healing powers.
His Flow Piano Sound Bath grew out of that work. After learning to use flow states and music to help heal himself of Lyme disease, Ravé built the principles of flow into a live, continuously improvised piano performance and meditation experience. It is meant to slow time down and help listeners let go and drop into a deep healing state.
Ravé has performed in unusual venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Grace Cathedral, the Church of Rome, Dracula's Castle, Burning Man and the North Pole. He was the first pianist to perform live in the U.S. National Archives building, in front of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. His music has been licensed to over 30 shows on major television networks, and he created and produced the live stage show FLOW, described as yoga meets Cirque du Soleil.
Outside music, Ravé is an engineer, entrepreneur and founder of Mehta Labs, and is known as a VR pioneer. His first company, Modis Technologies, developed VR simulation and training systems for the DoD. He wrote The Inventor, a bestselling graphic novel based on the true story of Nikola Tesla, which schools use to engage young readers and encourage STEAM learning. He discusses this in his TED talk "Education for a Hyper-Visual Culture."
He founded The Great Silence, a global synchronized meditation series that aims to create a group flow state and to measure the effects of group meditation. The first gathering, on September 24, 2016, involved over 1200 cities and events and well over 50,000 people. Ravé is a former board member of the Florida Space Agency and advises and mentors for Singularity University and the XPrize Foundation.
