Peruquois | Перукуа's Teaching: Approach, Method, and Voice

The Shape of the Work

A session with Peruquois does not begin with lecture. It begins with sound—often a low hum, a directed breath, a vocalization that participants are asked to mirror and sustain. The teaching unfolds in layers: a short verbal frame, a movement sequence, a return to the voice, then silence. Retreats and workshops follow this rhythm for hours, cycling through vocal toning, guided meditation, and what she terms "emotional release work," which may involve shaking, sounding into discomfort, or holding a single note until something shifts internally.

Her online courses replicate this structure in compressed form. Videos guide students through daily practices, each ten to twenty minutes long, stacking over weeks into a cumulative method. The pacing is deliberate. She does not rush toward catharsis. Instead, she builds a container—through repetition, through the steadying presence of her own voice on recording, through the assignment of small daily tasks that ask for consistency rather than intensity.

In live settings, she moves through the room but does not perform. Her presence is observational, corrective, occasionally hands-on. She will adjust a participant's posture mid-practice or ask someone to repeat a sound until it comes from a different place in the body. The instruction is specific, not abstract.

Recurring Themes

Peruquois returns again and again to the voice as both diagnostic and remedy. She speaks of blockages—emotional, energetic, relational—as lodged in the throat, the chest, the belly. Her teaching suggests that these areas can be accessed and loosened not through talk but through directed sound. The voice, in her framework, is not metaphor. It is the tool.

Sensual awakening appears frequently in her language, though she uses the term in a broader sense than the erotic. She means aliveness to sensation, to the body's capacity for pleasure and presence, to what she describes as a restoration of feeling in women who have learned to numb or perform. This is paired with purpose-finding work—vocational in some cases, existential in others. The teaching implies that these are related: that a woman disconnected from her body will struggle to locate her direction.

Daily regulation is another anchor. She teaches practices meant to be repeated each morning, not as spiritual aspiration but as maintenance. The goal is not transcendence. It is steadiness.

The Questions She Holds

Peruquois does not ask her students to answer questions aloud. She asks them to sit with them in practice. What does your voice sound like when you are not performing? What happens in your body when you allow yourself to be heard? Where have you learned to collapse, to tighten, to go silent?

She pushes participants toward specificity. Not "How do I find my purpose?" but "What do you feel in your chest when you imagine doing the thing you say you want to do?" Not "How do I heal?" but "What sound wants to come out of you right now, and what are you doing to stop it?"

These are not rhetorical gestures. They are meant to generate sensation, to locate something pre-verbal that the practices can then work with.

Aesthetic and Delivery

Her teaching voice is calm, unhurried, and directive. She does not use humor as a tool. There are no anecdotes about her own life, no confessional pivots to build intimacy. She occasionally references lineage—mantra traditions, yogic concepts, breathwork frameworks—but she does not dwell in scripture or philosophy. The teaching is applied, not discursive.

Silence is used structurally. She will ask participants to hold a sound, then stop and sit in the aftermath. The quiet is not passive. It is the space where the practice is meant to settle.

She does tell stories, but they are illustrative, not personal. A student who found her voice after years of silence. A woman who located her purpose through a single breakthrough session. These stories function as evidence, not as emotional appeal.

Who It Lands For

This work finds its students among women who have tried other modalities and found them insufficient. Those drawn to embodied practice but suspicious of dogma. Women who want structure but not scripture, who are willing to make sound in a room full of strangers, who are looking for something practical rather than purely contemplative.

It will not land for those who need intellectual scaffolding, who want to understand before they practice, who prefer psychological language to somatic metaphor. It may feel too directive for students who want space to self-direct, too repetitive for those who seek variety, too earnest for those who need irony as a buffer.

The Wider Tradition

Peruquois draws from vocal yoga lineages, breathwork traditions, and somatic feminism, but she is not situated within a single named school. Her work shares territory with practitioners who center the body as the site of transformation—Continuum Movement, chakra-toning practices, feminist embodiment work. She is adjacent to the wellness world but not fully of it. Her method is too specific, too focused on one tool, to fit neatly into broader integrative models.

She has built a practice that is hers, recognizable, repeatable, and apparently effective for those who stay.
