BrightStar lets you build a library of merch products, such as a shirt in several sizes, and offer them at your events. It is for organizers on the Elevate plan or above.
Think of the merch table at the back of the room: a stack of shirts, a few sizes, someone keeping count. Products give that table a place in your event, with the stock counted for you.
Where to find it
The Products panel sits below your add-on tickets.
On an event you have already made: Dashboard → Gatherings → your event, then open Upsells & Add-ons.
Creating a product
In the Products panel, choose **+ Product** and fill in the form:
- 1Enter a name, a price, and an optional description.
- 2Add photos if you like.
- 3Switch on options such as Size or Colour. Type values and press Enter. You can use up to 3 options.
- 4Review the variants BrightStar builds from every combination of your values. A product can have up to 100 variants.
- 5Set stock for each variant. Leave it blank for unlimited stock. A variant price and a SKU are optional too.
- 6Choose **Save product**.
Offering a product at an event
A new product you create from an event is offered at that event straight away. Products you made earlier appear in the same panel, each with a Sell at this event switch.
Once a product is offered here, you can:
- Tap a size to switch it off for this event only. - Set a price for this event. If you leave it blank, the variant price is used, or else the product price. - Turn Online and At the door on or off.
A price must be 0 (free) or at least $0.50.
Merch pickup at the event
Merch is handed over at the event. BrightStar does not ship it. Every merch item is a separate item for pickup. It is never counted as a ticket sold, never appears on your attendee list, and cannot be checked in as a pass. If a merch code reaches the scanner, it says "Merch item, not a pass — mark it collected instead."
The Pickups list on the event's Upsells & Add-ons screen shows each sold item and its buyer. Search by name, email or item, then choose Mark collected. You can undo it.
Checking merch sales
Open the Product Sales report under Insights and choose your events and dates. You see each product and variant with items sold, online and door sales, collected and still to collect, gross, refunds, net and stock left. You can export it as a CSV file.
The report shows what buyers paid for the items. Platform and card fees are charged per order, so they are not split by product.
