Description

Trauma Informed Yoga Nidra Training is a 20-hour immersion for therapists, yoga teachers, meditation guides, bodyworkers, coaches, and anyone who wants to understand why Yoga Nidra helps people heal. It takes place at Rooted Holistic Center in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, and is led by Jennie Claire, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) who has guided trauma survivors with this method since the studio first opened.

The training treats Yoga Nidra as more than deep relaxation. It approaches it through neuroscience and limbic repair, as one of the gentler ways for survivors to re-enter their own bodies without force, pressure, or overwhelm.

What to Expect

The training runs across three days, each from 8am to 2pm. Together they make up the full 20 hours. The material is both theoretical and practical, so you leave with tools you can use with clients, students, or yourself.

You will study:

- the neurobiology behind why Nidra works
- brainwave states and trauma healing
- the role of interoception
- how to write trauma-informed scripts
- modifications for dissociation, PTSD, and shutdown
- the Rooted method for guiding survivors safely through sensation

The emphasis throughout is on safety and choice, and on learning to guide people through sensation at a pace their nervous system can manage.

About Jennie Claire

Jennie is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500), Reiki Master, Certified Mindfulness Instructor, Thai Massage Therapist, and Acupressure Therapist. She came to yoga in the late 1990s, after losing herself in her early twenties, and describes it as her path back home: a way to root down in faith, trust, and love for herself and to return to her breath.

Her own history shapes her teaching. She is a survivor of stroke, sexual assault, violence, and addiction, and she speaks of finding beauty in healing and in letting go. She believes yoga, meditation, and a holistic lifestyle can send the body into healing from the inside out. For her, yoga is "planting roots as firm as the trees" and knowing you can re-root and rise.

Jennie leads Rooted Holistic Center, an LGBTQ+ owned 501(c)(3) studio founded in 2020.
