Description
This online meditation evening with spiritual teacher Caverly Morgan explores the question of who we truly are beneath conditioning, and what becomes possible when more of us act from that recognition. Hosted by Drala Mountain Center of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, it draws on Buddhist and Zen teachings and is open to everyone, whether you have practiced for years or are new to meditation.
The session is part of the Drala Mountain Online Practice Series, a collection of tuition-free online offerings. It takes place on Zoom, so you can join from wherever you are.
What to Expect
The evening runs from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Mountain Time and combines three elements: a teaching talk, a guided meditation, and a community discussion.
The talk is based on Caverly Morgan's latest book, The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together. It looks at identity, personal liberation, and collective freedom, and asks how often we move through the world as the person we were conditioned to be rather than from a direct recognition of who we are. The guided meditation gives space to take up that inquiry in practice, with an emphasis on presence. The evening closes with an open discussion and Q&A, where participants can exchange questions and reflections with one another.
The program is free. In keeping with the Buddhist tradition of dāna, a selfless act of giving that expresses appreciation and supports the teachings, a tax-deductible donation of any amount can be made at registration. Giving is a choice and not a requirement.
