À propos de cet événement

Description

Join the Buddhist Society of Western Australia for a weekly guided meditation session that connects you to centuries of Buddhist practice and a global community of practitioners. Whether you're sitting in Perth or logging in from anywhere in the world, this Saturday afternoon meditation offers a rare opportunity to practice alongside monastics grounded in the Theravada tradition. Led by Ajahn Brahm, a revered Buddhist teacher known for translating ancient wisdom into language and methods that resonate with modern Western seekers, this session welcomes you into a structured, supportive environment where your practice deepens through collective intention and skilled guidance.

Saturday afternoon is a natural pause in the week—a time to reset your mind, strengthen your capacity for stillness, and reconnect with what matters most. This livestreamed practice from BSWA brings the refuge and focus of monastery life directly into your home, whether you're new to Buddhist meditation or returning to deepen an existing practice. Participants join monastics in real time, creating an energetic container that amplifies individual effort and anchors you in something larger than yourself.

What to Expect

Expect a structured group meditation session rooted in Theravada Buddhist tradition. You'll begin by settling into stillness, guided by clear, accessible instruction from Ajahn Brahm. The practice builds progressively, moving through foundational techniques for calming the mind and cultivating insight. The atmosphere is contemplative and welcoming; while the session is grounded in Buddhist principles, it remains accessible to those with some prior meditation experience. You'll leave with a steadied mind, renewed clarity, and a felt sense of connection to both the practice and the global sangha (community) meditating alongside you.
