Reiki Level One Weekend at The Lotus School of Reiki

Reiki Level One Weekend is a beginner's Reiki course at The Lotus School of Reiki, held at Lotus Retreat in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. It is led by Carrie Rossiter and Kathleen Hartley and is open to anyone who wants to learn Reiki, with no earlier experience of energy work needed. It is also the first step for those who later want to train as a professional Reiki practitioner.

What to Expect

Level One is described as a gentle introduction to Reiki, the "spiritually guided universal life-force energy" the name translates to from Japanese. The weekend centres on self-healing: getting in touch with your own energy and the energy of the world around you.

At the heart of the course is the attunement, a ceremony of spiritual empowerment in which a qualified Reiki Master initiates you into the Reiki energy. The school's view is that Reiki is experience-based rather than knowledge-based, so the attunement is what allows you to draw Reiki into yourself whenever and wherever you wish.

You will be shown how to use Reiki for yourself, for friends and family, and even for pets, plants, food and projects. Alongside this, the weekend introduces chakras, dowsing and auras and how each connects with Reiki. The organizers hope the weekend will be both inspiring and enjoyable, and they describe students often noticing expanded intuition, old blockages beginning to clear and a feeling of being more in the flow of life.

Level One is the first of three levels. Those who want to practise professionally take Level Two, a further weekend, and Level Three is the Reiki Masters course.

About Carrie Rossiter and Kathleen Hartley

Carrie Rossiter and Kathleen Hartley founded The Lotus School of Reiki in 2009. They say they have been honoured and inspired by the many students they have attuned to Reiki since then, and they teach the full pathway from Level One through to the Reiki Masters course in the Usui System of Natural Healing.

The Setting

The course takes place at Lotus Retreat in Faringdon, in Oxfordshire, England.

Before You Go

This course is made for complete beginners. You need only an open mind and heart, a desire to learn and a willingness to let the healing energy flow through you. Reiki is taught to people of any age, gender, religion or origin.

The course includes the Level One attunement and instruction in self-healing and Reiki practice.
