Nathan Glyde

Description
A day of Insight Meditation in Oxford, England, led by Nathan Glyde. This meditation day is for anyone who wants to spend a full day practising together, whether you are new to retreats or already have a regular sitting practice. It follows the Insight Meditation tradition, with a mix of silent and guided meditation, teachings, and time to talk things through.
What to Expect
The day moves between silence and conversation. There is silent meditation and guided meditation, with teachings to offer a view of the practice and meditation instruction for those who want it. Time for discussion is built in, so questions that arise during the day can be heard and explored with the teacher and the group.
The material gives no session times or daily schedule, so the best way to think of it is as a spacious day of sitting, listening and reflecting, held in a small community of practitioners.
About Nathan Glyde
Nathan Glyde is an Insight Meditation teacher recognised by Gaia House in the UK. He has practised and studied meditation since 1997 and has shared teachings on retreats since 2007. In 2004 he co-founded SanghaSeva, whose retreats emphasise wisdom and compassion in ecological and humanitarian service.
With Zohar Lavie, Nathan writes the materials and runs every part of DependentOrigination.org, a body of work on the Buddha's teaching of dependent origination. The teaching holds that all things arise reliant on other causes and conditions. Nathan and Zohar describe it as a practical exploration of how everything leans: how stress depends on thirsting, and how seeing such dependencies opens a path to freedom. Their aim is to make this deep teaching accessible to all. They offer retreats, online drop-in groups and meditation sessions.
Continuing the Practice
For those who want to keep practising after the day, Nathan and Zohar Lavie host online drop-in groups. One meets monthly to explore emptiness and the liberation of perception. Another meets monthly to explore how insight, samadhi and metta can shape perception and be carried into daily life. Morning meditation and Dharma inquiry sessions are also offered on weekdays at certain times of year, and a group is available on Signal private messenger.
