Description
Living Our Sacred Resistance is an online spiritual workshop with author Kaitlin B. Curtice, offered through Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Over two live evenings on Zoom, it draws on her book Living Resistance to ask how sacred resistance can be practiced in everyday life. It is for anyone drawn to indigenous spirituality and contemplative practice who wants to ask how they show up for themselves, their communities, and those who came before them.
What to Expect
The workshop is organized around four realms from Kaitlin Curtice's book: the personal, the communal, the ancestral, and the integral. It runs across two sessions, each from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Eastern, for four hours in total.
The first session turns to the personal and communal realms. It begins with an introduction to the framework of sacred resistance, then moves into loving oneself well and into community care and accountability. Mindfulness practice and journaling anchor the evening.
The second session turns to the ancestral and integral realms. Here the focus is on learning from ancestral wisdom and lineage, then on integration practices for carrying what you have learned more deeply into daily life. There is small-group sharing and reflection, and the evening closes with a ceremony and personal commitments.
Throughout, you can expect mindfulness practices, journaling prompts and exercises, and facilitated small-group conversations. The small groups offer a chance to be heard and to witness others, so the program feels like a shared inquiry rather than a lecture.
