Description
Joshua Tree Yoga Festival is a spring yoga festival in Joshua Tree, California, in the high desert east of Los Angeles. It is for yoga practitioners and for anyone drawn to practice, music and open desert surroundings, and it is led by the singer songwriter Shylah Ray Sunshine.
About Shylah Ray Sunshine
Shylah Ray Sunshine is a singer songwriter, and her work is rooted in live music and shared experience. Her gatherings take several forms: live performances, ecstatic dance events, a drum and singing evening called Rhythm & Song, workshops paired with performances, and private ceremonies in Sedona, Arizona. She also leads Senses of Being, a weekend retreat in Topanga Canyon, California. Anyone who has danced, sung or sat in one of her gatherings will recognize the voice-centered spirit she brings to the festival.
The Setting
Joshua Tree sits in the Mojave Desert region of Southern California, a town known for its wide skies, boulder-strewn landscape and the trees that give it its name. A yoga festival here places practice in open, quiet country, a good distance from the pace of the city.
