Golden Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training

The Golden Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training is an advanced, 55-hour yoga teacher training for people who already hold a yoga instructor certification and want to go deeper into Kundalini Yoga. It is held at the European House of Yoga Light in San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua, with live online sessions offered alongside the in-person intensive. Successful graduates receive a globally recognised certification through the Yoga Federation of Europe.

Golden Kundalini Yoga is a style that brings together selected physical exercises (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation (dyana) and mantras. It belongs to a family of integrative approaches with roots in the thousands of years old tantric tradition.

What to Expect

The training is built around the idea that energy underlies everything we do. Energy and its flows shape physiological and psychological processes, and the program works from the view that a higher state of consciousness depends on developing a higher state of energy and learning to sustain it. The name itself points there: in Sanskrit, "kundala" means a circular ring, and in the Mahabharata a sleeping snake curled in a circle. In 11th century tantrism it refers to Shakti, vital energy without beginning or end, a symbol of the dormant potential within us.

The program includes:

- The theory of Kundalini Yoga
- Intensive energy yoga practice
- A weekend residency at the European House of Yoga Light
- Initiation
- Kundalini activation
- A final exam

The in-person intensive is the heart of the training and runs for just over two weeks. The practice, the weekend at the ashram, the initiation and the kundalini activation all take place there, and the training closes with the final examination. Online, live sessions are held monthly over Zoom.

The Setting

The in-person block takes place at the European House of Yoga Light Ashram in San Juan del Sur, on the Pacific side of Rivas, Nicaragua. Half-board accommodation is offered alongside the training at the ashram, so participants can stay on site for the intensive.

Before You Go

This is an advanced training. It is designed for practitioners who already hold a yoga instructor certification, so it is not an introduction to teaching yoga.

The training fee covers the theory, the intensive practice, the weekend residency, initiation, kundalini activation, the final examination and the certification through the Yoga Federation of Europe. Accommodation is not part of the fee. Half-board lodging is charged separately per night and paid on arrival.
