À propos de cet événement

Description

Join Bhante Joe Atulo for a grounded, accessible meditation session rooted in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. Whether you're deepening an established practice or exploring Buddhist meditation for the first time, this monthly gathering offers a structured 90-minute container for collective practice, guided insight, and genuine spiritual community—all from the comfort of your home. This is meditation as it has been taught for centuries, adapted thoughtfully for modern seekers across North America.

Each session unfolds as a complete arc: opening chanting to center the group, guided meditation to settle the mind, a Dhamma talk exploring Buddhist teachings, and space for your questions and reflections. You'll experience what it feels like to practice in real time with others, cameras on, creating a living sense of sangha (community) rather than passive consumption. Sessions are never recorded—this protects your privacy and ensures everyone shows up authentically, fully present to the moment.

What to Expect

The gathering begins with traditional chanting, setting a contemplative tone and anchoring you in shared intention. Bhante Joe then guides you into meditation, offering clear instructions suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The guided portion typically lasts 30–40 minutes, moving you into deeper states of calm and clarity. A Dhamma talk follows, exploring core Buddhist concepts—suffering, compassion, mindfulness, liberation—in language accessible to Western practitioners. The final portion opens to your questions, creating dialogue and direct transmission of the teachings. You'll leave with a settled nervous system, practical tools for your daily practice, and the felt sense of belonging to a sincere community of seekers.

About the Artist

Bhante Joe Atulo was ordained as a bhikkhu (Buddhist monk) in 2010 under the guidance of Ajahn Viradhammo, a respected teacher in the Thai Forest tradition. He trained extensively at Tisaraṇa Monastery and spent formative years in Thailand, deepening his understanding of Theravada practice and monastic discipline. His teaching draws from this rigorous training while remaining warm and accessible to Western lay audiences navigating modern life. Bhante Joe leads these monthly sessions as an offering to support sincere practice across North America.
