[0:01] The Foundation of Human Understanding
[0:03] teaches an observation exercise often
[0:06] called meditation
[0:08] which permits you to become objective
[0:10] toward your problems
[0:12] and allows your heartaches, bad habits,
[0:15] fears, and anxieties to be completely
[0:17] eliminated from your life without effort
[0:20] on your part.
[0:23] Until you have begun to practice this
[0:24] exercise
[0:26] much of what you see and hear on the
[0:28] following program may be shocking and
[0:30] upsetting to you.
[0:32] But if you will listen calmly and with
[0:35] an open mind
[0:37] you may discover the key to the peace of
[0:39] mind and joy for which you've been
[0:41] searching all of your life.
[0:44] And now from the Foundation of Human
[0:45] Understanding
[0:47] here is Roy Masters.
[0:50] >> Let's say we're going to take um line
[0:52] number seven.
[0:54] A strange question about
[0:56] um love and sex. All right. Line number
[1:01] two. Love and sex.
[1:04] Hello. You're on the air.
[1:06] >> I was concerned about a relationship
[1:09] I've been having with a girl for the
[1:11] last year or so.
[1:12] >> Yes.
[1:13] >> And uh what you were saying earlier
[1:14] about ambition really relates because uh
[1:17] I always planned on I I felt like I
[1:19] should just I didn't care what my life
[1:22] had to be. I just turned it all over to
[1:23] God.
[1:24] >> If you knew how to do that, that would
[1:25] be fine, but most of us don't know how
[1:27] to do it. We turn our lives over to the
[1:29] ladies.
[1:30] >> And I never planned on getting
[1:32] messed up with a lady or whatever.
[1:34] >> Well, we don't. I know that. We don't
[1:36] plan on the holes we fall into, do we?
[1:38] >> And well, how do I I don't know, but it
[1:41] seems so genuine.
[1:43] >> How do you get out of it?
[1:44] >> Well,
[1:45] how can you tell if it's genuine or not?
[1:47] >> Well,
[1:49] are you asleep or you awake right now?
[1:55] >> I'm
[1:56] awake.
[1:57] >> How do you know that?
[2:01] >> Because I
[2:02] >> The answer is simple. I can see it,
[2:04] right?
[2:06] Well, all truth is like that.
[2:09] You're You're uncomfortable? You feel
[2:11] awkward?
[2:12] You sense something's wrong? Because
[2:14] there is a knowledge, an ultimate
[2:17] right,
[2:19] a criteria by which all things are
[2:20] judged,
[2:21] which are good for you and which are bad
[2:23] for you.
[2:25] And
[2:25] >> Seems like the it's it's the
[2:26] relationship slips into times when it's
[2:29] wrong.
[2:30] >> No, but it becomes progressively wrong.
[2:33] Your whole life is a What you must
[2:35] understand
[2:36] is what the what what the what
[2:37] Christians have been trying to tell the
[2:39] world for a long time and
[2:41] and I suppose the the world believes it
[2:42] not because they really understand it
[2:44] because
[2:45] you know, you tell a person enough times
[2:46] and you brainwash them to accept it.
[2:48] It doesn't mean to say the idea is wrong
[2:50] except we may accept the idea in a wrong
[2:52] way and never really see even then what
[2:54] it's saying.
[2:55] And I'm saying that we're born in sin
[2:58] and that every decision you make, now
[3:00] listen carefully,
[3:02] every decision you make from the day of
[3:05] your birth to the day of your death
[3:08] will be a compulsive one and would lead
[3:10] you progressively to greater wrongs.
[3:12] It's imperceptible
[3:14] to begin with. And as you get to be 25
[3:17] and 35 and 45, it becomes more obvious.
[3:21] And then you're dead.
[3:23] And then you have anxiety attacks and
[3:26] guilt attacks and drunk attacks and
[3:28] pills and drugs and illnesses and
[3:30] diseases and
[3:31] you're always looking to someone to
[3:33] comfort you, aren't you?
[3:35] Doctors to comfort you, psychiatrists to
[3:37] comfort you, lowlife friends to comfort
[3:39] you, lowlife ladies to comfort you.
[3:42] >> Not really. I'd rather just do it on my
[3:44] own.
[3:45] >> Well, then
[3:45] >> I mean, not comfort myself, but
[3:48] like like more of the problem I have is
[3:50] the like when like love is in love
[3:53] supposed to be
[3:54] forgiving and and
[3:55] >> Love is No, love is love is is very hard
[3:58] hard to define what love is.
[4:01] Um but love it love is doing the will of
[4:03] of God, right?
[4:05] >> Yeah.
[4:05] >> Remember I started out
[4:07] uh programs by saying that you know, all
[4:10] the tragedy of man and woman comes from
[4:12] putting ambition before what's right.
[4:14] >> Mhm.
[4:15] >> And then the man needing a woman to
[4:16] support that ambition. The wrong is the
[4:19] right. Remember that?
[4:20] >> Yeah.
[4:20] >> Well, that's the way it is with all of
[4:22] us. Our friendships, our decisions, our
[4:25] attractions to one another are all based
[4:27] upon
[4:29] seeking help from the wrong from the
[4:31] wrong to feel to make our own wrong feel
[4:33] comfortable.
[4:34] So we don't have to face the truth about
[4:35] ourselves.
[4:38] So we don't have to do the will of the
[4:39] God, so we can just get other people to
[4:41] serve us in our own will, but we end up
[4:44] it it gets reversed. We end up slave of
[4:46] other people's will. We end up the slave
[4:48] of the servant.
[4:51] >> I was going to ask like when does one
[4:52] stop tolerating another's misaction?
[4:55] >> Well, but you
[4:56] >> stand up
[4:57] >> You're talking about this girlfriend.
[4:58] You're talking about the girlfriend.
[5:00] >> Well, also that and also anybody or
[5:02] >> Yeah, but the right Do you understand?
[5:04] You can't stand up to a You You cannot a
[5:06] wrong cannot stand up to a wrong.
[5:10] You have to be right to stand up to a
[5:12] wrong. How can you How can a man who
[5:16] um How can a man who
[5:18] um depends upon his boss for a living?
[5:21] Let's say there's no other job anywhere,
[5:23] just for argument's sake. How can he
[5:26] speak up to his boss if he his whole
[5:28] life depends upon
[5:31] the living he makes from his boss?
[5:34] Let's say there was no other. You may be
[5:35] working Russia. How can you You can't
[5:37] get a job if you if you outspoken?
[5:40] >> But my whole life doesn't depend on
[5:42] >> It does. It does. That's the That's the
[5:44] truth. That's what you're going to I to
[5:45] see.
[5:46] >> Can I Can I
[5:47] prove it?
[5:48] >> Pardon?
[5:48] >> I mean, is there any way I can prove
[5:50] that my whole life doesn't depend on
[5:52] her, like just leave her or
[5:54] >> Well, can you leave her?
[5:55] >> Yeah.
[5:56] >> Can you?
[5:56] >> Do that and she would come back or I
[5:58] could come back and
[5:59] >> I mean, you're not dependent on her?
[6:02] >> I don't think I'm
[6:03] >> You don't put up with any gap from her?
[6:05] You see, that's what you were saying.
[6:07] You would say, "How can I stand up to
[6:09] I'm sure you include
[6:10] >> But I feel like like I'm reading the
[6:12] Bible it says love is patience and
[6:13] understanding
[6:14] >> Yeah, that's right. Love is also doing
[6:16] the right thing.
[6:17] >> Well,
[6:17] >> Love is not having sex with
[6:20] shacking up with some lady.
[6:21] >> Uh-huh.
[6:22] >> Because what what is what is sex? What
[6:24] is sex outside marriage? Can it be love?
[6:27] No, cannot because it's because the law
[6:29] of God says no man no no sex outside
[6:31] marriage.
[6:33] And I won't go I won't go into great
[6:35] detail on this, but there are laws laws
[6:37] rules and regulations for the governance
[6:40] of the souls of men so that they don't
[6:42] don't fall into the pit of iniquity, you
[6:44] see. And and and just just like those
[6:47] laws of gravity, you know, you just you
[6:49] thou shalt not walk off the edge of a
[6:51] cliff, you know.
[6:52] >> [laughter]
[6:53] >> I mean, it's common sense. You shouldn't
[6:54] have anyone to say that.
[6:57] Thou shalt not steal. You shouldn't have
[6:58] anyone to say that. Obviously, it's
[7:00] obvious it's wrong to steal. But some
[7:02] people are so so far away from reality
[7:05] that they can't see that it's wrong to
[7:06] steal. They think what's mine what's
[7:08] theirs is theirs and what's what's
[7:10] what's everybody else's is theirs also.
[7:12] They're so egotistical to think that
[7:13] they're God.
[7:15] What's theirs is theirs and what
[7:16] somebody else's is theirs. So,
[7:18] what mine is mine and what's yours is
[7:20] mine and the attitude is, you see. So,
[7:22] some people don't see those delicate
[7:23] things and you have to have rules and
[7:25] regulations to govern that.
[7:27] Sensitive men like you and me,
[7:30] we see those things and we don't have to
[7:31] have anybody to tell us. We live within
[7:33] those rules and therefore there's
[7:35] therefore if I don't steal from you, you
[7:37] respect you respect me and we have a
[7:39] friendship and a bond of of goodness and
[7:42] and and and equanimity and and love and
[7:45] and sweetness and a relationship we can
[7:47] build together. But if I'm treacherous,
[7:50] if you steal from me, I steal from you,
[7:52] nothing can grow. You can't build You
[7:55] can't build a house in a whirlwind.
[7:58] You can't So therefore there are those
[7:59] rules. And those rules that we should
[8:01] know
[8:02] our conscience should incriminate us
[8:05] when we fall outside those rules.
[8:07] And you see?
[8:09] >> So what's a genuine love relationship
[8:11] like
[8:12] man and woman?
[8:13] >> Well, don't use people.
[8:16] See, listen
[8:18] Listen, if I don't if I don't if I don't
[8:20] use you, if I have an opportunity to
[8:21] take advantage of you and I don't,
[8:24] wouldn't that be love?
[8:26] >> Yes.
[8:27] >> If I have Look, I I am a boss here and I
[8:29] have employees.
[8:31] Uh I could take advantage of them. I
[8:32] could be mean to them. I could
[8:34] you know, I could take advantage of
[8:35] them, make them work long hours, you
[8:36] know, that sort of thing.
[8:38] >> Well, what about making money then? You
[8:39] always
[8:40] >> But you see the point though if I but
[8:42] But if I could take advantage of them,
[8:44] that isn't love, that's use. And I grow
[8:46] and and and and if they cow down to that
[8:48] use, if people don't stand up to me and
[8:51] walk away and let me abuse them, then I
[8:53] get a terrible power and I become a
[8:55] wicked person.
[8:56] >> Well, where's the Okay, if I buy
[8:57] something and sell it for a higher price
[8:59] >> That's not That's That's not necessarily
[9:02] wrong.
[9:03] >> Well, where's the where's the balance of
[9:05] where I'm using the other
[9:06] >> Uh-huh, I know.
[9:07] >> Do you think that's
[9:09] >> Nobody can tell you that.
[9:12] >> That's just something
[9:12] >> No one can tell you where
[9:15] profit is exploitation
[9:17] and where profit is
[9:19] a
[9:21] proper.
[9:22] You can't possibly
[9:24] I mean
[9:25] um you have to understand what profit
[9:27] is.
[9:29] Profit is gain from your labor.
[9:31] >> Yes.
[9:31] >> Okay? Means I I I had 10 I had 10 seeds
[9:36] of corn, I planted them, I worked. I now
[9:38] have a thousand ears of corn. That's
[9:41] profit.
[9:42] I now trade those ears of corn for
[9:44] something you have.
[9:45] So, but my investment is only my labor
[9:47] and 10 seeds of corn, but I'm the profit
[9:49] is
[9:50] the the fruits of my labor.
[9:52] And and
[9:53] >> intelligent always
[9:54] >> If I didn't make a profit, if I didn't
[9:55] get back fruits for my labor, I die. And
[9:58] if and I couldn't work. If I didn't do
[10:00] that, I couldn't I couldn't grow corn
[10:02] for you.
[10:03] You wouldn't have corn either.
[10:05] >> But the more intelligent don't really
[10:06] have to work for
[10:08] >> I'm I'm not saying, but you have to
[10:10] understand you yourself must know the
[10:12] difference. And and in order to know
[10:14] that difference without someone telling
[10:16] you every step of the way, a minister, a
[10:18] teacher, the law, anyone.
[10:21] That that quality of knowing is called
[10:24] grace.
[10:26] See, and you must seek this knowing. You
[10:28] must seek that which informs. And to do
[10:31] the will of that which informs and
[10:33] guides.
[10:34] >> meditation
[10:34] >> That's where the meditation comes in.
[10:36] >> And when I meditate, I haven't done this
[10:38] for a long time
[10:40] because I would do it as like a duty or
[10:43] not a duty, but whenever I did it was
[10:45] sort of like jogging. Oh, good. I got it
[10:47] over with.
[10:48] >> No, yeah. That's not That's not the
[10:49] right attitude.
[10:50] >> can't tell.
[10:50] >> Yeah, no. Yeah, that's not the right
[10:51] attitude.
[10:53] You must meditate to know the truth.
[10:57] >> Where did meditation come from?
[10:58] >> Oh, well, I can't go into that now.
[11:00] >> Okay.
[11:00] >> Because, you know, I can just chit-chat
[11:02] with you forever. But you got the point.
[11:04] The first duty of man
[11:07] See, the only love
[11:09] the only love you can have is is is
[11:13] But love is need.
[11:15] See, you can either need women and you
[11:17] can need your
[11:18] local dope pusher.
[11:20] You can need
[11:22] And only wrong people need outwardly.
[11:24] They seek the love of the world to
[11:25] support the wrong what's gone wrong in
[11:27] them so they don't have to face that
[11:29] they are wrong.
[11:30] >> Yes.
[11:30] >> To help them deny the truth that they're
[11:32] wrong.
[11:33] It's to save their ego from being saved
[11:36] because they still want to be stubborn
[11:37] about what they are. You follow that?
[11:38] >> Yes.
[11:39] >> It's called pride. So, those people who
[11:41] seek the the approval of other people
[11:43] and it's every person listening to this
[11:44] program who looks for love. Now, never
[11:46] mind. I want everybody listening to me
[11:48] right now to forget the lies that
[11:50] psychiatry teaches and psychology
[11:52] teaches.
[11:53] That the love the need for human love
[11:56] is
[11:57] is
[11:58] a perversion
[12:00] of the need and love of God.
[12:03] That any person who doesn't love God,
[12:06] need him, and find his approval
[12:09] for not looking for the approval of the
[12:11] world. And see how I'm saying that?
[12:13] >> Yes.
[12:13] >> See, when you don't look for the
[12:14] approval of the world, when you give
[12:16] when you realize the approval of the
[12:18] world is simply reinforcing something
[12:20] gone wrong with you,
[12:21] helping you to rebel against knowing
[12:23] what's gone wrong with you, and
[12:25] sustaining what
[12:27] what's going wrong with you, sustaining
[12:29] you in your rebellion and your
[12:30] selfishness and your in your quest for
[12:32] glory and power, say security in that.
[12:35] When you realize the truth, it only
[12:37] could be because there is something in
[12:39] you that
[12:42] is still capable of realizing it, that's
[12:43] destined to be saved by that
[12:45] realization. Some people have to sink
[12:47] very very deep and very low before they
[12:51] they turn around and and a little
[12:53] glimmer of light
[12:54] from heaven shines in them and makes
[12:56] them see what they've done wrong, the
[12:58] the folly of their ways. And one of the
[13:01] folly of the ways, one of those follies
[13:02] is to look at your need for women, your
[13:05] need for drugs, your need for
[13:07] friendship, your need for approval. No
[13:09] matter what it that need is for human
[13:12] love, it is your ego that's seeking to
[13:14] be glorified through that love and
[13:16] becoming a slave of sin through it.
[13:20] For everybody who plays a game with you
[13:22] will enslave you. William Penn says if
[13:24] man does not be is not
[13:26] is not
[13:27] obey God, he'll be ruled by tyrants.
[13:31] And the tyranny comes about through
[13:34] seeking support
[13:36] from the wrong kind of people for what's
[13:37] going wrong with you and then eventually
[13:40] they enslave you as as you become
[13:42] dependent on them. They they start
[13:44] making their demands otherwise they
[13:46] withhold their approval. Follow that?
[13:48] >> So it's only God that
[13:50] >> And leave you exposed to the pain of
[13:51] your conscience which you don't
[13:53] understand, you see?
[13:54] Which you've always been trying to fix
[13:56] with their drugs or with their
[13:57] friendships. You see that?
[13:59] >> All right. Thank you.
[14:00] >> So now go be quiet and seek that seek
[14:03] that reconciling love. Seek that bond
[14:06] that
[14:06] >> from God.
[14:07] >> Yeah, that's right. But but you
[14:08] understand you got to be very very
[14:10] still. You got to stop busy like you got
[14:12] to stop being like a chicken pecking
[14:14] outside for little morsels of approval.
[14:18] You have to be very very quiet.
[14:20] And you'll find that in the silence.
[14:25] >> So don't look to others but only to
[14:26] >> Right. Right.
[14:28] >> All right.
[14:28] >> But that's how you do it.
[14:29] You resist the temptation realizing what
[14:32] it is.
[14:33] And you dry out from the people's
[14:35] approval. You start to dry out. And as
[14:37] you resist the temptation to accept
[14:39] people's approval or cultivate their
[14:41] approval by surrendering to their
[14:43] demands
[14:44] catering to them, getting them to
[14:47] support your ego. Follow that? Enslaving
[14:49] yourself to them, really.
[14:51] Um selling yourself down the river to
[14:53] them, really.
[14:54] >> Yeah.
[14:54] >> As you as you see that and cease and
[14:57] desist
[14:58] you will all of a sudden you'll start to
[15:01] glow and
[15:03] you'll find the life that you've been
[15:04] seeking within you.
[15:06] The happiness.
[15:07] See, God will approve
[15:09] of you not seeking approval.
[15:11] And he will disapprove your seeking
[15:13] approval. As the Bible says the love of
[15:16] the world makes you God's enemy.
[15:20] >> Where does it say that?
[15:21] >> The the love of the world makes an it
[15:23] makes an enmity with God. That's That's
[15:26] the correct quote.
[15:29] >> All right. Not to shift responsibility,
[15:31] but is this
[15:32] does this relate back to Satan trying to
[15:34] >> Of course.
[15:35] >> take over?
[15:36] >> You have good and you have evil and you
[15:37] have
[15:39] good trying to bring you back and
[15:40] reconciling.
[15:41] >> Cuz I've heard a lot of people dismiss
[15:43] you as
[15:45] uh I don't know what cuz they didn't get
[15:46] clear on it, but they say that you claim
[15:48] to be a sinless man and
[15:50] >> I
[15:50] >> Well,
[15:51] >> um I don't sin anymore. That's correct.
[15:54] >> Yeah.
[15:54] >> I'm not without sin.
[15:56] Meaning to say I'm born in sin, but each
[15:58] but I found the way not to to let sin be
[16:00] my master.
[16:02] Isn't that what Jesus came to do?
[16:05] I don't know who's been talking to
[16:07] >> Oh, it was Constance Cumby I talked to.
[16:09] >> I don't know who that is, but whoever's
[16:10] been telling you, you know, doesn't
[16:11] understand
[16:13] >> Yeah.
[16:13] >> wha- wha- what what what salvation is.
[16:16] >> So, you did have sin, but it
[16:17] >> Well, a person's born in sin, I you
[16:19] know, and that doesn't ex- clude me.
[16:21] >> Yeah.
[16:22] >> So, um so, but the point is it doesn't
[16:24] mean to say I don't have I'm I'm still
[16:27] I'm not but I'm not subject to sin
[16:28] anymore. I I have now through the grace
[16:31] of Christ made God and and Christ my
[16:34] master and sin I'm no longer under the
[16:37] power of sin.
[16:39] It can tempt me and I I don't respond to
[16:41] it.
[16:42] >> So, to wrap it up
[16:43] >> I'm dead to it. I'm dead to it now, but
[16:45] and therefore each time I obey what's
[16:47] right in my heart and disobey
[16:50] the the the the appeals of temptation,
[16:53] I this the sin which I was born with
[16:56] starts to die and disap- disappear and
[16:59] the good begins to make a home in me and
[17:01] enlarge in my members.
[17:03] >> Mhm.
[17:03] >> See that?
[17:04] >> Yeah.
[17:05] >> Okay.
[17:05] >> So, so don't seek approval from anybody,
[17:07] but
[17:07] >> Don't seek approval from anybody.
[17:10] >> And and do it through silence.
[17:12] >> Yes, find the Yeah, but you get very
[17:14] like the Bible says, be still.
[17:16] And know
[17:18] that I am God and you ain't.
[17:20] Right?
[17:21] >> Yes.
[17:21] >> All right, okay.
[17:22] >> Thank you.
[17:23] >> All right, bye.
[17:24] Well, um let's see what else we've got.
[17:27] Got to put my uglies on here.
[17:29] >> [gasps]
[17:30] >> Well, let's take Ohio. It's a strange
[17:32] question about Adam and Eve. Well, since
[17:34] we've been talking about sin,
[17:36] that seems to kind of go together.
[17:39] Um let's say hello to Ohio.
[17:43] >> Oh, hello. Um
[17:45] are you there?
[17:45] >> Oh, hi. Ohio?
[17:47] >> Yes, hi. Are you there?
[17:49] >> Yes.
[17:50] >> All right.
[17:51] Um
[17:52] wow, I listened to this whole program
[17:54] and I don't think we're going to have
[17:55] time to finish this thing.
[17:56] >> Well, can you
[17:57] >> What do you suggest?
[17:58] >> I do you have a a pinpoint question?
[18:01] >> Well,
[18:03] >> I can get my teeth into.
[18:04] >> Uh one you can get into. Okay. Adam was
[18:07] not born in sin.
[18:10] I just heard you tell that gentleman we
[18:11] were all born in sin, but Adam
[18:13] >> No, he wasn't.
[18:14] >> He wasn't born in
[18:15] >> But but he fell from grace.
[18:17] >> All right.
[18:18] >> And through the failing of one man, sin
[18:20] and the whole human race came into
[18:22] existence.
[18:23] >> All right, but what this Eve here wanted
[18:25] to do
[18:27] >> Yes, Eve.
[18:27] >> Talk right, this Eve talking to you.
[18:29] >> Yes.
[18:30] >> Wanted to do was kind of
[18:33] have
[18:35] have you as a loving father because I
[18:37] never had an earth loving father.
[18:39] >> Yes.
[18:40] >> Help the child Eve in me through
[18:45] my tempting
[18:46] of the beautiful Adam.
[18:48] >> Yes.
[18:49] >> [laughter]
[18:50] >> And
[18:52] um
[18:54] my husband's dead period, so I can't go
[18:56] >> So, you haven't got an Adam to tempt.
[18:58] >> So, I don't have an Adam to tempt, but
[19:00] now
[19:00] >> Or to love you or correct you.
[19:02] >> But you see, but I don't either have an
[19:04] Adam to apologize to and to tell him how
[19:08] sorry I was that I tempted him.
[19:11] >> But you are sorry, aren't you?
[19:13] >> Oh God, you don't know how sorry.
[19:16] >> I hear it.
[19:18] And that's enough.
[19:21] It's all all that our creator wants is
[19:23] for you to be sorry like that.
[19:26] >> But I'm still afraid of men.
[19:28] >> Well,
[19:29] I maybe I maybe you're not
[19:32] maybe you're not sorry.
[19:34] >> I'm afraid of the angry man. I'm not
[19:37] >> You know what you remind me of? You know
[19:38] what you remind me of? I don't think the
[19:41] the sorrow goes deep enough yet.
[19:42] >> Oh, well, how deep does it have to go? I
[19:44] could die. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
[19:47] >> Well, let let me say this. I I think the
[19:49] sorrow can deepen if you understood a
[19:51] principle.
[19:53] That
[19:54] that you resented your husband
[19:57] because
[19:58] >> I haven't denied that since I've been
[20:00] meditating and
[20:01] >> Yes.
[20:02] >> The point is,
[20:03] you know, I'm sort of like tired of
[20:05] taking one finger off a hand at a time.
[20:08] Why can't I just take the whole hand
[20:10] off?
[20:10] >> You can.
[20:12] But you're coming so close to the light
[20:14] now
[20:15] that
[20:16] I know that any moment it will be just
[20:18] like a shaft of blinding revelation and
[20:21] you'll be free.
[20:23] Do you understand I'm trying to edge you
[20:24] towards perfect repentance?
[20:27] >> I know that, but I still have a loving
[20:29] son that's 26 and I I sense
[20:33] a certain degree of that same thing
[20:35] between him and me and I
[20:37] I just cannot
[20:39] >> The same thing meaning meaning what?
[20:41] >> Meaning the male-female
[20:44] lock-in of
[20:46] >> Meaning meaning what are you what are
[20:48] you what are you what are you to be
[20:49] sorry for if he's alive, your husband is
[20:52] not alive
[20:54] and you're doing the same thing with
[20:55] your husband as you did your son as you
[20:56] did with
[20:58] What is it?
[20:58] >> I divorced his father and he loved his
[21:01] father and he hates you because I
[21:04] divorced his father and his father died
[21:07] and therefore if I hadn't divorced him,
[21:09] he'd still have his father. He loved it.
[21:11] He won't forgive me.
[21:13] >> He won't forgive you.
[21:14] >> Well, he doesn't know that that's his
[21:17] problem. And I can't talk to him. He
[21:19] won't
[21:19] >> He doesn't know that's his problem.
[21:21] That's correct.
[21:22] But you have to make him know that it's
[21:24] his problem. Now, look, have you
[21:26] have you gone to your son and said,
[21:28] "Look, I was wrong."
[21:30] Have you told him that you were wrong,
[21:31] that you were a willful lady?
[21:33] And listen, I must say this to you in
[21:35] all in all fairness to you. It is not
[21:38] all your fault.
[21:39] That Adam, I mean
[21:42] he should have your husband should have
[21:43] known better.
[21:45] >> I know that now.
[21:46] >> Look, look, look, my wife
[21:47] >> But see, he didn't know any better,
[21:49] either.
[21:50] >> You both didn't know any better.
[21:52] >> We both didn't know
[21:53] >> All right. All right, you didn't. And
[21:54] why don't you say that to your son? Why
[21:57] don't you come clean to him and say,
[21:58] "Look,
[21:59] when we were young" and tell him the
[22:01] story, "we didn't know. I didn't know
[22:03] what I know now, and I can't say to your
[22:05] father, 'I'm sorry.'
[22:06] He's dead."
[22:07] >> Beautiful. Oh, I got to say that.
[22:10] Maybe he will understand
[22:12] >> Yes, maybe. Tell Tell him that you you
[22:14] you know that he's problem, and he will
[22:16] always have problems as long as he hates
[22:17] you.
[22:18] And and and you wouldn't mind him hating
[22:21] you because you know he has a reason to
[22:23] hate you.
[22:24] >> I mean, I Hey, I can understand this,
[22:26] and I sit there, and when he says some
[22:28] cruel things he doesn't mean to say, I
[22:30] understand
[22:31] >> You understand it, but
[22:33] >> I can't help him, and I just sit there
[22:34] and shut up, and then he looks at me
[22:36] with such contempt and walks off.
[22:38] >> Yeah, but you see, when you shut up
[22:39] >> father.
[22:40] >> But but do you understand when you shut
[22:41] up and don't say anything when you
[22:43] should
[22:44] you're you're actually
[22:46] um supporting his wrong.
[22:48] >> Oh, dear, no.
[22:49] >> You see
[22:50] Do you know Do you know what Do you know
[22:51] what Lincoln said? He says, "To sin the
[22:54] sin of silence when you should speak up
[22:56] makes cowards out of men, but out of
[22:58] women, too."
[22:59] And and your son has has doesn't have
[23:01] respect for your silence because you're
[23:03] afraid to
[23:04] >> I'm afraid of
[23:05] the violence of his actions. I'm afraid
[23:07] of the violence of his actions. I'm
[23:08] afraid of the violence of his actions.
[23:10] I'm afraid of the violence
[23:11] >> I'm afraid of the violence of his
[23:13] actions. I'm afraid of the violence
[23:14] >> You're afraid for yourself.
[23:17] >> Um well, because I was
[23:18] >> You don't want You're afraid for him to
[23:19] hate you.
[23:20] >> No, I'm not afraid for him to hate me.
[23:22] >> You're afraid for him to kill you?
[23:24] >> Um I'm afraid he'll do the same thing my
[23:26] husband did to me.
[23:28] >> Okay, what is that?
[23:29] >> He was a brutal, cruel, violent man who
[23:31] loved to torment
[23:33] >> I know, but you because the reason was
[23:34] Now, listen carefully. The reason is
[23:37] because you supported him. You cowed to
[23:39] that violence.
[23:41] >> Because I was
[23:42] >> Because no
[23:43] No, no, because nothing. It's wrong.
[23:46] It's wrong to cower.
[23:49] But no, listen. It's wrong to cower
[23:51] before a bully. Because when you give in
[23:54] to a bully, you make him You become
[23:56] responsible for him becoming more of a
[23:59] bully.
[24:00] >> boy. And I And I know that, but you
[24:02] ought to see how less afraid I am and
[24:04] how I face things.
[24:05] >> And I tell you, the more faith you have
[24:06] in what I just told you. If you
[24:07] understand that If you throw caution to
[24:10] the wind, care, not caution. If you care
[24:13] into the wind, never mind what your
[24:14] husband thinks of you. Never mind you
[24:16] have this You've transferred the
[24:18] relationship from your husband to your
[24:19] son.
[24:20] And And it's still operating, and that's
[24:22] why you're unhappy.
[24:24] And you somehow sense that the effect
[24:26] that you have on him is making him
[24:28] miserable and you miserable.
[24:30] Be brave. Be brave, dear lady.
[24:32] >> But the point is
[24:35] The point is
[24:35] >> The point is
[24:36] >> this water in the bottom that as I
[24:38] meditate in my meditation always starts
[24:41] out with only in the name of the Father
[24:43] of Jesus Christ do I want any
[24:45] information, and I want it corrected.
[24:49] But the point is
[24:50] >> Ma'am, I gave it to you just now. Listen
[24:51] to me.
[24:52] >> Uh okay.
[24:53] >> You missed it.
[24:54] >> I did?
[24:55] >> You missed it. You were so emotional,
[24:56] you missed it.
[24:57] >> Oh, okay. Go one more time.
[24:59] >> You don't you don't have you In the past
[25:01] you didn't have faith. Your security
[25:02] came from submitting to this to a man.
[25:05] stroking his ego and other
[25:07] >> Listen, wrong Christian information.
[25:09] Women submit yourselves unto your
[25:11] husband and do their bidding and
[25:13] >> Submit yourself to your right Christian
[25:15] husbands, not one ones that are wrong.
[25:17] >> You try to live that Christian principle
[25:19] and you have married a man sicker than
[25:21] you are and you submit to that you
[25:23] become it.
[25:23] >> You got it.
[25:24] >> or sicker.
[25:25] >> You got it.
[25:26] >> That's what happened in our marriage.
[25:27] >> That's right, but now don't but but now
[25:30] you have a sick son.
[25:32] And you must oppose him.
[25:34] You must stand in contrast. Don't You're
[25:36] giving him silent consent just like you
[25:38] did your husband.
[25:40] So when he's rude and violent to
[25:41] >> that. I got that and I've got the
[25:43] strength to handle that.
[25:44] >> Got it. Got it. I got to go.
[25:46] >> this. Oh.
[25:47] >> Got to go.
[25:47] >> How can I call you again?
[25:49] >> Yes.
[25:49] >> Thank you. Bye.
[25:50] >> Bye.
[25:51] What a sweet lady.
[25:52] Yeah, I wouldn't mind being her son.
[25:55] She's just got to get some guts.
[25:57] And that's called love.
[25:59] Throwing caution to the wind.
[26:01] So you speak up to someone and they
[26:03] don't love you, they hate you, you must
[26:05] prepare not to hate them back. They
[26:07] won't forgive you, prepare
[26:10] not to
[26:11] not forgive them back.
[26:13] Don't
[26:14] In other words, if they don't forgive
[26:15] you,
[26:16] don't don't judge them for not forgiving
[26:19] you.
[26:20] Don't be unforgiving of their
[26:21] unforgiving.
[26:23] See, they don't have to forgive you when
[26:25] you say you're sorry.
[26:27] Remember that. Your salvation doesn't
[26:30] depend upon
[26:32] their forgiveness of you.
[26:35] Your salvation depends upon you saying,
[26:37] "I'm sorry."
[26:39] Releasing them to say they're sorry.
[26:41] And to get taking away the cause of
[26:44] their action for their resentment
[26:46] towards you and judgment and that that
[26:48] therefore their guilt.
[26:50] So you take away the cause and you leave
[26:52] them suspended and make them realize
[26:54] that their judgment to you is wrong
[26:56] because they now see something right.
[26:58] Something's changed and they forgive you
[27:00] or they harden their hearts. If they
[27:02] harden their hearts, it's their problem,
[27:03] not yours.
[27:05] Okay, your salvation doesn't depend upon
[27:07] the anybody forgiving you. Would you
