Sita Ram Chant at GenZ 2.0 With Hanuman Ansh Cast

Source : The Art of Living

A seventeen-second clip from The Art of Living's GenZ 2.0 gathering at its International Center in Bengaluru opens with music and a single phrase, repeated over and over: "Sita Ram." There is no speech, no caption, and no visible crowd shot beyond what the sound implies. What the video does carry is a note in its description that the cast of the film Hanuman Ansh joined the event. The clip is brief enough that it reads less like a feature than a moment caught mid-chant, and the honest way to write about it is to stay close to what is actually on screen and let the chant itself do the explaining.

What does the Sita Ram chant mean?

Sita Ram is a devotional name-chant. It invokes Sita, the consort of Lord Rama, and Rama himself, and it is one of the most widely sung forms in Hindu bhakti practice. The structure is simple on purpose. Two names, spoken in a steady rhythm, repeated until the words thin out and the sound becomes the practice. In kirtan settings, that repetition is the point: the chant is meant to be sung together, so attention moves from the mind's commentary into the voice and the breath.

That is the context the clip can't spell out on its own, and it matters for how the seventeen seconds land. The chant here isn't a performance cue or a hook. It is one of the oldest tools in the room. Participants don't need to understand every layer of the theology to join in; they need only keep returning to the names. Within the Art of Living's wider approach, which the organization describes in its own materials as an educational and humanitarian movement founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and active in 180 countries, chanting and breathwork sit alongside stress-management and service work. That framing comes from the organization's description, not from anything the clip itself states.

The juxtaposition on the page is worth noticing. A film cast appears in the event's description, and a devotional chant leads the footage. Sacred sound and popular culture share the same frame here, which fits programming aimed at younger audiences: the aim is to meet them where they already are, without asking them to set aside older practices. Whether any given participant experiences it that way is something only they can say.

Where to go from here

The clip is too short to teach anything on its own, so the fuller picture lives elsewhere. If the chant is what drew you in, the Art of Living app carries music, meditation, and discourses by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and the organization's official YouTube channel holds longer recordings. Listening to a full kirtan, rather than a few seconds of one, is the quickest way to hear how a phrase like Sita Ram is built to be sung for an hour, not a moment.
