Money Blocks and the Seven-Year-Old: A Guided Meditation

Danny Morel

À regarder · 7

The room is quiet except for a soft musical bed underneath a man's voice. Eyes are closed. The voice slows down and asks a series of questions that have nothing to do with budgets or income: What did your home feel like? Were you scared? Did you feel alone? Were you desperately seeking love, acknowledgement, tenderness? This is the opening of a live money meditation Danny Morel leads during an inner circle intensive, and it is built on a claim that sounds almost too simple to carry so much weight: that the financial patterns you repeat as an adult were first written when you were a small child, long before you had a paycheck, a bank account, or any reason to think about money at all. The meditation asks you to go back to that moment, feel what it was like, and begin offering yourself the safety that was missing. Danny's central idea is that money and love run on the same energy, and that a nervous system which learned love was conditional or out of reach will protect itself by blocking abundance in the same way.

Lecture · 6 sections

Why does the body treat money like a threat?

Danny opens the meditation by describing the nervous system as "the most sophisticated system in the universe" and then making a pointed observation: it has been spending its energy on contraction rather than expansion. The intent behind this, he says, is protection. "All it's actually trying to do and has been trying to do is keep you safe."

The logic he lays out runs like this. A child who stands out, wants a lot, or receives a lot may find that being themselves carries a cost. Danny frames that cost in stark terms, and the word he chooses is deliberate:

"As a child rejection feels like death." (Danny Morel, guided meditation, 1:53)

If rejection registers as a survival threat, then anything that looks like more, more visibility, more reward, more of what you want, can register the same way. Money is a clear example of that kind of "more." In this framing, the body does not distinguish between a financial opportunity and an emotional risk. Both are read as things that might cost you connection, so both get held at arm's length.

It is worth being precise about what the video claims and what it does not. Danny is describing a framework he teaches, one that connects a child's early experience of love to later patterns around money. He is not presenting a clinical study in this clip, and the meditation itself is an experiential practice rather than a diagnostic tool. But the framework is coherent on its own terms, and it explains why a strategy-only approach to money can feel frustrating. If the block is located in the body's expectations about safety, a better spreadsheet will not reach it.

What does "money and love are the same energy" actually mean?

The idea appears in more than one place in this material. The video description states that "money and love are the same energy," and the meditation itself makes the connection in plainer language. Danny asks: "Because what is money? It's just energy. And what is love? And what are both? Who can see that?"

He then ties the two together with the mechanism that the rest of the meditation depends on:

"The more that love was kept from you no performance nothing to do for it the allowance and the space to be yourself. The more that love was kept from you the more you unconsciously block money and keep it from you." (Danny Morel, guided meditation, approximately 2:25 to 2:45)

The phrase that matters most here is "unconsciously." The claim is not that you choose to refuse money. It is that a pattern formed long ago operates beneath awareness, the way a reflex does. Someone who learned that affection had to be earned through performance may find that they quietly sabotage the moment success arrives, or that they cannot accept a raise without a knot in the stomach. Someone who learned that they were only safe when they were small may keep their earnings and their ambitions deliberately modest. The meditation proposes that the way out is not a new tactic but a change in the felt sense of safety that the tactic is meant to serve.

How does the seven-year-old visualization work?

The core of the practice is a guided return. Danny asks listeners to close their eyes and "fully go into that little boy or little girl at 7 years old." He is explicit that this is not an exercise in analysis. "Don't think, just feel," he says at one point, and he repeats versions of that instruction throughout.

The questions are open and sensory. What did their home feel like? What did life look like for them? Did they feel alone, judged, or the need to perform? He asks about the hardest possibilities directly, including whether the child was beaten, abused, or neglected, and he tells listeners there are "no barriers here." He also gives permission for the body to respond however it needs: "You need to lay down, you need to do whatever. This is not a show."

Two things stand out about this approach. First, the meditation prioritizes what the body registers over what the mind can explain. Second, it asks what the child wished for, not only what the child suffered. Danny asks, "Did you wish your dad was present? Did you wish your mom would just love you, look at you, and hold you?" The wish is treated as information about what was missing, and that absence is where the work begins.

Danny names the lasting effect of that early environment with a single line that anchors the whole session:

"That frequency you felt, that's your baseline for life. That's your normal." (Danny Morel, guided meditation)

The idea of a "baseline" is useful. If the nervous system has been calibrated to a childhood level of safety, then adult life will tend to recreate that level, even when circumstances have changed. The visualization is an attempt to make that baseline visible and then gently open it.

Can you parent yourself through a money block?

The meditation's second movement is where the listener becomes their own caregiver. Danny instructs: "Allow your masculine to be your protector. Hold yourself the way you wish your father would have held you. Love yourself and allow yourself the way you wish your mother would have allowed you. Give yourself the space and the slack to just be."

This is the practical heart of the video. The adult listener is asked to provide, internally, the protection, holding, and permission that the seven-year-old lacked. It is a form of inner parenting. The instruction to "give yourself the space and the slack" matters, because a common pattern in people with money blocks is relentless self-pressure: pushing harder, judging every choice, treating rest as a failure. The meditation proposes the opposite posture, one of allowance.

Practically, this suggests a few things for anyone who wants to try the practice on their own, drawn directly from the way Danny structures the session:

  • Choose a quiet place where you will not be interrupted, and allow yourself to lie down if your body wants to.
  • Close your eyes and let an image of yourself at about seven arise without forcing it.
  • Ask the questions slowly and notice where your body tightens or softens, rather than writing out an answer.
  • Notice what you wished for as that child, and let yourself feel the wish fully.
  • Offer the child the protection, warmth, and permission you needed, using whatever words feel true.
  • Stop, breathe, or open your eyes whenever the feeling becomes more than you can hold.

That last point deserves emphasis. The video itself ends by reminding listeners that the meditation is meant to be revisited, and the host notes that "each time it will take you a little bit deeper." Depth here is not a race. If the questions about a childhood surface memories of abuse, neglect, or serious harm, those memories deserve support from a licensed mental health professional, not only a meditation practice done alone.

What did the host say the session is really doing?

The episode opens with host Randy explaining that this recording is "a little bit different from anything we've ever done so far." It is not coaching, and it is not a tactical guide to money. Randy calls it "an invitation to feel deeply into your body and your nervous system and reconnect with your younger self at the exact moment your story around money was first written."

After the visualization, Randy reflects on what the listener has just experienced: "What Danny just did in there is something most people spend years in therapy trying to get to. And you just felt that in your body." The comparison is a bold one, and it is the host's characterization rather than a clinical claim. What is clear is the intent: to create a felt experience rather than a set of instructions.

The closing segment also points to two resources Danny offers for those who want to continue. One is the course Rewire Your Money Blueprint, which the host describes as built for listeners who want to heal their relationship with money and rewire their nervous system. The other is the AwakenU app, which the host describes as offering live classes with Danny, meditations, and a community. The host's summary of the app's philosophy is worth keeping in mind: "You don't need to learn more. You just need to become who you were meant to be."

Where to go from here

The most useful way to approach this material is as a practice rather than a lesson. Listen to the meditation in a quiet space, ideally when you have time afterward to rest. Return to it on different days, because the video itself invites repeated listening. Notice whether the money patterns in your life map onto the framework Danny describes: contraction around receiving, self-sabotage at moments of success, or a background sense that wanting more is somehow unsafe. You do not need to accept the framework in full to notice whether it fits your experience.

If you want to go further, Danny's course and AwakenU app are the two next steps he points to in the video. Whatever you choose, let the practice be gentle. The seven-year-old in the meditation was not asked to perform. The adult listening to it does not need to, either.

[0:00] Welcome back to another episode of The

[0:02] Higher Self Podcast. My name is Randy

[0:04] and in this week's episode is going to

[0:06] be a little bit different from anything

[0:07] we've ever done so far. What you're

[0:08] about to listen to is a live money

[0:10] meditation guided by Danny himself

[0:12] during an actual inner circle intensive.

[0:14] This isn't a coaching session and it's

[0:16] not a tactical breakdown of what to do

[0:17] with your money. It's actually just an

[0:19] invitation to feel deeply into your body

[0:21] and your nervous system and reconnect

[0:23] with your younger self at the exact

[0:24] moment your story around money was first

[0:26] written. And this isn't something you

[0:28] just listen to once. Honestly, you

[0:29] should come back to this episode as many

[0:32] times as you need. Each time it will

[0:33] take you a little bit deeper. Let's dive

[0:35] in.

[0:42] >> Here's what's been happening your whole

[0:43] life, guys.

[0:46] Your body,

[0:49] your nervous system,

[0:52] which is the most sophisticated system

[0:55] in the universe,

[0:59] has been spending all its energy

[1:03] not on expansion,

[1:06] but on contraction. Literally, not on

[1:09] creating more for your life,

[1:13] but on destroying what exceeds your

[1:16] limit.

[1:18] And the crazy thing, guys, is that all

[1:20] it's actually trying to do and has been

[1:23] trying to do is keep you safe.

[1:26] Because what happens, guys, is as a

[1:28] child standing out is too much.

[1:34] Like literally being you was too much.

[1:41] Wanting too much, receiving too much,

[1:45] being too much,

[1:48] it could mean rejection.

[1:53] This is why I want you guys to really

[1:56] start getting comfortable with that word

[1:58] death.

[2:02] As a child rejection

[2:05] feels like death.

[2:06] And so the more that love

[2:09] was kept from you

[2:11] no performance

[2:14] nothing to do for it

[2:17] the allowance and the space to be

[2:18] yourself.

[2:21] The more that love was kept from you

[2:25] the more you unconsciously block money

[2:29] and keep it from you.

[2:33] Because what is money?

[2:37] It's just energy.

[2:38] And what is love?

[2:41] And what are both?

[2:48] Who can see that?

[2:51] Yeah.

[2:52] Close your eyes.

[2:55] Close your eyes.

[2:58] I want you to allow yourself to fully go

[3:01] into

[3:02] that little boy or little girl at 7

[3:05] years old.

[3:06] You've got this.

[3:13] What did their home feel like?

[3:17] Don't hold it back. What did her house

[3:19] feel [music] like?

[3:24] At 7 years old

[3:26] what did life look like

[3:29] for him at 7 years old?

[3:34] Did they feel alone?

[3:41] Were they scared? [music]

[3:45] Allow.

[3:48] Were they judged?

[3:54] Did they need to perform?

[4:00] Were they desperately seeking

[4:03] love,

[4:06] acknowledgement, [music]

[4:11] tenderness,

[4:15] care,

[4:18] touch,

[4:21] compassion,

[4:26] nurturing?

[4:33] Did they want to just feel [music] safe?

[4:42] The more you feel [music] what they felt

[4:44] like,

[4:45] the more you give yourself the space to

[4:47] let go.

[4:53] Don't think, just feel.

[4:57] Were they beaten? [music]

[5:00] Were they abused?

[5:05] Were they neglected?

[5:08] There's no barriers here, guys. You need

[5:10] to lay down, you need to do whatever.

[5:12] This is not a show.

[5:15] How did [music] it feel to live in your

[5:17] home

[5:19] at 7 years old?

[5:24] What did you wish?

[5:28] What did you desperately wish for?

[5:31] Did you wish your dad was present?

[5:36] Did you wish your mom would just love

[5:38] you,

[5:39] look at you, and hold you?

[5:43] Because that [music] frequency you felt,

[5:47] that's your baseline for life.

[5:51] That's your normal.

[5:55] Feel it in your body right now

[5:58] and allow that feeling to expand.

[6:02] There's nowhere to go. There's nowhere

[6:04] to be.

[6:08] Just right [music] here, right now.

[6:10] Hold yourself as you feel what needs to

[6:13] be felt.

[6:24] Allow your masculine to be your

[6:27] protector.

[6:31] Hold yourself the way you wish your

[6:33] father would have held you.

[6:37] Love yourself

[6:39] and allow yourself the way you wish your

[6:42] mother would have allowed you.

[6:51] Give yourself the space

[6:54] and the slack [music]

[6:58] to just be.

[7:06] If you're ready, open your eyes. If

[7:08] you're still there, stay there. Stay

[7:10] there.

[7:18] >> What Danny just did in there is

[7:19] something most people [music] spend

[7:21] years in therapy trying to get to. And

[7:23] you just felt that in your body.

[7:25] >> [music]

[7:25] >> The invitation now is to let that

[7:26] feeling expand more and more so that

[7:28] part of you is able to take up space and

[7:31] be the truest version of yourself. If

[7:32] that's something that you feel aligned

[7:34] with, then we have a couple of things

[7:35] that will help you on that journey. The

[7:37] first is Danny's brand new course,

[7:38] Rewire Your Money Blueprint. If what you

[7:40] heard today resonated and you're ready

[7:41] to go all in on healing your

[7:43] relationship with money and rewiring

[7:44] your nervous system to finally let

[7:46] abundance in, this course is exactly

[7:48] what that was built for. The second is

[7:50] Danny's brand new app, Awaken You. And

[7:53] honestly guys, this is unlike anything

[7:55] that is out there right now. This isn't

[7:56] another course platform. Inside you get

[7:58] full access to Danny's live classes,

[8:01] meditations, and a real community of

[8:03] people doing this alongside with you.

[8:05] [music] And the whole thing is designed

[8:06] around the idea that you don't need to

[8:08] learn more. You just need to become

[8:09] [music]

[8:10] who you were meant to be. The link for

[8:11] both of those are in the description

[8:13] below, so make sure you check those out.

[8:15] As always guys, thanks for watching this

[8:17] week's episode of the Higher Self

[8:18] Podcast. Make sure you're subscribed as

[8:20] we drop new episodes every single week.

[8:22] We'll see you in the next one.

Questions fréquemment posées

It is a guided inner-child meditation that asks listeners to return to around age seven and feel the love, safety, and belonging they did or did not receive. Danny Morel frames this early experience as the origin of later patterns around money. The session focuses on feeling rather than analysis.
In the meditation, Danny asks what money and love are, answering that money is energy and suggesting both are connected. He argues that if love felt conditional or unreachable as a child, the nervous system may unconsciously block money in the same way. The video description states that money and love are the same energy.
Find a quiet place, close your eyes, and let an image of yourself around age seven arise without forcing it. Notice where your body tightens or softens as you ask what home felt like and what you wished for. Then offer that child the protection and permission you needed, stopping whenever it becomes too much.
Danny's meditation explicitly asks about harder experiences like being beaten, abused, or neglected, so it can surface painful memories. If that happens, stop the practice and breathe or open your eyes. Working through abuse or neglect is best supported by a licensed mental health professional.
In this framework, the body is always trying to keep you safe, and it may treat anything that looks like more, including money, as a risk. Danny links this to childhood, where standing out or wanting too much could mean rejection, which he describes as feeling like death. The result is a tendency to hold abundance at a distance.
The video does not make measurable financial promises; it presents meditation as a way to feel and shift the felt sense of safety beneath money habits. Danny describes the childhood-formed 'baseline' as what the body treats as normal. Changing that felt baseline is the stated aim, and results will vary by person.
