The Recording Arc

Prashanti Paz's catalog begins in 2017 with Inner Light and runs, nearly a decade later, to Shakti Gayatri in February 2026. Born in Patagonia, Argentina, and now based in The Hague, she left screenwriting for full-time sacred music and teaching in 2016, and the discography reads like a practice unfolding in public. Three full-length albums anchor it: Inner Light (2017), Into the Heart (2019) and Beyond (2023). Between them sit ten singles, each a single mantra or heart song, circling Hindu, Buddhist and shamanic sources. The sound stays consistent: a clear alto voice, harmonium, occasional strings, and generous silence. Mantras dominate the early years, contemporary heart songs arrive around 2020 and 2021, and the later releases return to invocation with a fuller, more polished finish. Use the albums as foundations and the singles as doorways.

Shakti Gayatri

Shakti Gayatri

Year: 2026. The most recent release in the catalog, issued as a single in February, Shakti Gayatri draws on the Gayatri tradition, among the most revered mantras in Hindu practice. Expect her hallmark restraint: a luminous voice carrying Sanskrit syllables with room to breathe, and no urgency in the pacing. It suits serious sitting practice more than casual background listening.

Where it sits: It is the current endpoint of the arc, showing that her mantra work has stayed active well beyond the Beyond era.

Drop in first: The title track, Shakti Gayatri. As a single, it is a complete experience in itself.

Beyond

Beyond

Year: 2023. Beyond is the third full-length album and her most polished, produced by Anibal Kerpel with longtime collaborator Diego Marchionatti. The sound is slightly fuller than before, yet her voice remains the primary instrument, supported rather than surrounded. It holds seven tracks, with an unhurried, crystalline calm that rewards patient listening.

Where it sits: It arrives after six years of singles and earlier albums, and it reads as the crystallization of her voice and vision. It is best heard once the earlier work is familiar.

Drop in first: Begin with the opening track and let the album unfold in sequence, as it was built to be heard.

Om Tare

Om Tare

Year: 2023. A single devoted to Tara, the Buddhist deity associated with compassion and swift protection. It is the most directly Buddhist offering among her recent singles, and it reflects the foundation beneath all her music: decades of study within the Tibetan tradition. The mood is tender and protective, well suited to altar practice or a quiet evening.

Where it sits: Released the same year as Beyond, it sits beside that album as a reminder that Buddhist mantra remains at her center, even as her catalog moves ecumenically across traditions.

Drop in first: Om Tare itself, the single's title track.

Abrete Corazon

Abrete Corazon

Year: 2022. A single whose title means "open, heart," in Spanish, the language of her Argentine birthplace. Documentation on it is sparse, so this is a short entry. The title points toward the heart-song side of her work, where invocation gives way to something more personal and direct.

Where it sits: It is one of three singles from 2022 and the one that most clearly nods to her roots, a quiet counterpoint to the Sanskrit mantras around it.

Drop in first: Abrete Corazon, the title track.

Ganesha Sharanam

Ganesha Sharanam

Year: 2022. A single addressed to Ganesha, the Hindu deity traditionally invoked at the start of ceremonies and practices to remove obstacles. That makes it a natural opener for a yoga class, a retreat morning, or a new project. The tone is warm and steady, with the harmonium grounding her voice.

Where it sits: It is one of the clearest examples of her ecumenical reach, a Hindu devotional chant from a teacher whose own foundation is Tibetan Buddhist. It follows her earlier Ganesha-themed single, Om Ganapataye, from 2018.

Drop in first: Ganesha Sharanam, the title track.

Mere Ram

Mere Ram

Year: 2022. Another single from a productive year, Mere Ram belongs to the devotional, bhajan-leaning side of her work. Little is documented beyond its release, so this entry stays brief. Expect the signature elements: a clear alto, harmonium, a slow pace shaped by the breath, and silences that let each phrase settle.

Where it sits: Alongside Ganesha Sharanam and Abrete Corazon, it makes up a trio of 2022 singles that kept her output steady between Coming Home and Beyond.

Drop in first: Mere Ram, the title track.

Coming Home

Coming Home

Year: 2021. One of her contemporary heart songs, Coming Home is more personal and reflective than the traditional mantras. It is among the most emotionally accessible points of entry, requiring no background in Sanskrit or Buddhist practice. The pace is meditative, and the feeling is of settling and return.

Where it sits: It belongs to the pandemic-era shift toward heart songs, between Lokah Samastah and A New Day, when her writing turned more intimate and contemporary.

Drop in first: Coming Home, the title track. It makes an easy first listen for anyone wary of unfamiliar languages.

A New Day

A New Day

Year: 2021. A heart song featuring Kevin Johansen, one of the few collaborations in her catalog and a sign of her willingness to work with contemporary songwriters. The mood is hopeful and quietly bright, introspective but still meditative in pace, suited to morning reflection or gentle healing work.

Where it sits: Released the same year as Coming Home, it completes a pair of contemporary releases that broaden her sound beyond traditional mantra while keeping its calm.

Drop in first: A New Day, the title track. Listen for how Johansen's presence widens the sonic palette without disturbing the stillness.

Lokah Samastah

Lokah Samastah

Year: 2020. Released during the pandemic, Lokah Samastah is framed as a prayer for challenging times, a wish for the wellbeing of all beings. It serves both meditative and ceremonial purposes, and it has been used in group meditation settings. The tone is consoling and spacious, with a gentle gravity.

Where it sits: It marks the turn between the mantra-focused albums and the heart songs of 2021, and it is one of the most emotionally accessible doorways into her work.

Drop in first: Lokah Samastah, the title track. Hearing it in a difficult week shows what it was made for.

Into the Heart

Into the Heart

Year: 2019. Her second full-length album, with nine tracks that deepen the meditation work of its predecessor. The production is warm but deliberately restrained, with voice, harmonium and silence carrying the emotional weight. It is built to be heard in a single sitting, like a complete practice session.

Where it sits: It arrived just before the pandemic, capturing a moment of deepening practice before her writing turned toward heart songs. It is the natural second step after Inner Light.

Drop in first: Start at track one and continue through the sequence. The album's arc is part of its effect.

Om Asatoma

Om Asatoma

Year: 2018. A single built on the ancient Sanskrit invocation that moves from untruth toward truth, from darkness toward light. Like her other early singles, it works as a focal point for sitting practice: repetitive, steady and clear. Her voice is unadorned, and the harmonium keeps a quiet pulse beneath.

Where it sits: It was released between Inner Light and Into the Heart, part of the early run of singles that kept her mantra practice flowing in the gap between albums.

Drop in first: Om Asatoma, the title track. It is brief enough to try before deciding on a full album.

Om Ganapataye

Om Ganapataye

Year: 2018. A single invoking Ganapati, another name for Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. It is an invocative chant meant to be repeated, and it works well as a focal point for practice. The feel is grounded and welcoming, with a steady rhythm shaped by the breath.

Where it sits: Released the same year as Om Asatoma, it opens a thread that returns in 2022 with Ganesha Sharanam, showing a long relationship with the same figure across years.

Drop in first: Om Ganapataye, the title track. Pair it with Ganesha Sharanam to hear how her approach changed over four years.

Inner Light

Inner Light

Year: 2017. Her debut album and the recommended starting point. Its ten tracks introduce her voice and the breadth of her mantra practice without overwhelming a newcomer. The sound is sparse and contemplative, with Sanskrit lyrics carried by a clear alto over harmonium and light strings. It is quiet, spacious and quietly radiant.

Where it sits: It is the foundation of the whole catalog, released one year after she moved into full-time sacred music, and everything afterward grows from its restraint.

Drop in first: Press play on the opening track, which sets out the fundamentals, and let the album run.

If you only listen to one…

Devotional: Ganesha Sharanam. Its traditional role as an opener of ceremonies gives it a ritual quality, and it invites an offering of attention.

Contemplative: Inner Light. Ten spacious tracks, minimal instrumentation and a voice that never rushes make it the ideal album for sitting still.

Energetic: A New Day. Nothing in her catalog is high-octane, but this heart song with Kevin Johansen is the brightest and most forward-leaning, good for a morning.

Healing: Lokah Samastah. A prayer for challenging times, it holds difficulty gently and offers comfort without hurry. For a longer version of the same mood, try Into the Heart from start to finish.
