I Am Rising In Love by Lee Harris: A Listening Guide

I Am Rising In Love is a single, released on November 7, 2025, with one track. A guide to it is therefore a guide to one sustained gesture rather than a sequence of songs. That suits Lee Harris's approach to music, which treats a recording as a container for a single intention.

Where It Sits in Lee Harris's Arc

Harris has been writing and producing music since 1998. He began solo with albums such as Shapeshifting (2001) and Phoenix, then settled into a long partnership with composer Davor Bozic. That partnership produced Transmissions, Awaken, Timelines, Medicine Mantras and others, released through his own label, Golden World Music.

This single arrives late in that arc. Its title echoes Rising in Love: Medicine Mantras 3, the latest chapter of the Medicine Mantras series, which pairs mantra-based music with emotional and somatic intentions. The single is a separate release, and its one-track format makes it a compact way into the series' territory without committing to a full collection.

Sonic Character

I'll describe the palette Harris is known for rather than claim details of this particular track. His music is vocal-forward, with his own voice as the primary melodic instrument. Around it sit layered guitar, subtle synth textures and sparing percussion. The pacing is slow and contemplative, and the arrangements leave room around the voice rather than filling it.

His voice tends toward warmth and presence rather than ethereal haze, which sets it apart from much New Age ambient music. Expect no sudden dynamic swings and no crescendos demanding attention. The mood is steady and open, built for attunement rather than drama.

The title is itself an affirmation in the first person present tense, the same form as his mantras "I Am Peace" and "I Allow My Soul to Rise." Repetition and variation of a single statement are the main structure, so the track's interest lies in small shifts of tone and texture across its length, not in surprise.

The Track Worth Naming

There is only one, and it carries the whole release: "I Am Rising In Love." What makes it land is the grammar of the phrase. "Rising" suggests movement rather than arrival, and "I Am" places the experience in the present, not as a future goal. For a listener who has been told to wait for love to show up, singing it as already underway can feel quietly corrective.

The single format is the other strength. With no sequencing to follow, you can put it on repeat and let the affirmation do what repetition does, wearing a groove into the mind until the phrase feels like yours.

Its Place in the Tradition

This is not bhakti or kirtan, and it is worth being clear about that. Harris's work sits outside traditional lineage structures. There are no Sanskrit chants, no guru-initiated mantras and no claim of descent from a specific teacher or school. His "mantras" are plain-English affirmations, closer to the modern wellness and sound-healing world than to devotional call-and-response.

What it shares with kirtan is function: repetition as a vehicle for shifting inner state, with the voice as the instrument of change. It shares with ambient music a spaciousness that rewards low-volume, long-form listening. If you want devotional precision or formal ritual structure, this will feel diffuse. If you want something transparent and self-directed, that is its design.

Who It Lands Hardest For

This single is for sensitive, intuitive listeners already comfortable with the vocabulary of energy, intuition and heart-centered living, which is the audience Harris addresses directly. It lands especially well during a stretch of emotional opening or recovery: after a closing-down period, in the middle of a tender transition, or when self-love has become a daily practice rather than a slogan.

It is also a good fit for anyone curious about Harris's music who wants one short, focused piece before committing to an album. Yoga teachers, somatic practitioners and meditators will find it easy to fold into a session.

It will likely not satisfy listeners who want instrumental virtuosity, avant-garde composition or confrontational, deconstructive spiritual material. The restraint is deliberate, and some people will find the affirmation style too gentle or repetitive.

How to Listen Closely

  • Headphones, low light, evening. The music is built on space and subtle texture, and headphones keep that detail in focus.
  • Play it at least three times in a row. The first pass is for orientation. By the second or third, the phrase stops being words and starts registering in the body.
  • Sing or speak along on one pass. Because the track is a first-person affirmation, joining in changes the experience from hearing a statement to making one.
  • Notice resistance. If part of you bristles at "I am rising in love," stay with that. Harris's work emphasizes emotional attunement, and the friction is part of the practice.
  • Use it as a bookend. Try it at the start of a meditation, a journaling session or a morning intention-setting, or as a quiet closing note to the day.

If it resonates, the natural next steps are Rising in Love: Medicine Mantras 3 for more short, intention-based pieces, or Awaken for a longer, more cohesive full-album experience.
