Brian Weiss

Brian Leslie Weiss, born November 6, 1944, is an American psychiatrist and hypnotherapist who specializes in past-life regression therapy. He earned his bachelor's degree from Columbia University in 1966 and his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1970, followed by an internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center and a two-year psychiatry residency at Yale. He later served as Head of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

Weiss's career took a significant turn in 1980 when one of his patients, whom he identified as "Catherine," began discussing past-life experiences during hypnotic sessions. Despite initial skepticism about reincarnation, Weiss came to believe in the survival of human personality after death after verifying details from Catherine's accounts through public records. Since that pivotal experience, he has conducted past-life regression therapy with more than 4,000 patients.

As a prolific author, Weiss achieved bestseller status with his book "Many Lives, Many Masters." He later collaborated with his daughter, Amy E. Weiss, to co-author "Miracles Happen: The Transformational Healing Power of Past-Life Memories" (2012). Weiss continues to conduct workshops and seminars throughout the United States, teaching self-regression meditation techniques to the public.
