À propos de cet événement

Description

This Yin Yoga Teacher Training is a 30-hour condensed course held over four days at Roam Movement in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand. It is led by Gabrielle Harris, a yoga teacher, trainer and author. It suits Yin teachers looking for a refresher as well as students who want to deepen their Yin yoga practice, and no prior teacher training is stated as a requirement.

What to Expect

The training runs from Thursday to Sunday. Thursday sessions go from 11am to 5pm, and Friday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm.

The first day lays the ground: an introduction to Yin foundations, how Yin differs from Yang practice physiologically, mentally and spiritually, and the Daoist theory behind it. Yin is approached as the "missing half" of modern yoga, and you study the cyclical nature of change in yin and yang philosophy and how to apply it to practice today.

Friday turns to the body. You work closely with the archetypal Yin poses, their anatomical purpose and variations, and the main functional target areas of the hips and spine, including how to isolate sensation safely. Propping comes in here too, with attention to adapting poses for different skeletal structures and therapeutic needs.

Saturday moves through modifications, daily practice and teaching methodology. Sunday brings the material together with an integration session and a closing practice.

Each day includes a Yin yoga practice with its own theme and teaching point, so you experience the method as a student before thinking about how to teach it.

Past participants describe the training as a welcoming, family-like room, with depth in the Yin material and practical encouragement for teaching.
