Show
Descrição
Malte Marten brings his handpan concert to the RAI Auditorium in Amsterdam as part of the Healing Frequencies Tour. It is a seated evening of live sound for anyone who wants to slow down, listen and settle, whether you know his recordings from falling asleep to them, working or meditating, or you are curious what a handpan sounds like in a room. The Amsterdam show includes special guest Lubiana.
What to Expect
Malte plays handpan, joined by his trio: Conrado Molina on percussion and voice, and Bummela, a multi-instrumentalist and producer. Together they make a spacious, layered sound that is meant to feel intimate even in a large hall.
The evening is shaped from beginning to end rather than assembled as a simple setlist. The music, the silence between pieces and the stories Malte shares are all part of one continuous experience. The concert lasts about two hours. Most shows on the tour start at 8 pm, and doors usually open 75 minutes earlier, so you have time to find your seat and arrive without hurry. Exact times are printed on your ticket.
The intention is simple: no pressure, no rush, nowhere else to be. It is a space to breathe, feel deeply and leave with a little more room inside than you came with. If you are looking for a sound healing evening in Amsterdam that asks nothing of you except to listen, this is built for that.
About Malte Marten
Malte Marten is a handpan musician, composer and teacher whose music has reached millions of listeners around the world. His path began in 2014, when he came across a video of the duo Hang Massive. He sold all the music equipment he owned as a beatmaker and DJ to buy his first handpan, and he later played on the streets of Berlin.
From 2015 to 2020 he toured with his former duo, Yatao, and teaching became a passion alongside performing. The duo gave workshops and retreats and co-founded the YataoShop, a place for people to take their first steps with the instrument. In 2021 that project ended and Malte began his solo work, funding his first solo studio album through crowdfunding. His videos on Instagram and YouTube have since found listeners far beyond the concert hall. His music rests on one idea: that music can create space to slow down, breathe and reconnect with yourself.
The Venue
The concert takes place at the RAI Auditorium in Amsterdam. Amsterdam RAI station, served by train, metro and tram, is right next to the venue, which makes arriving by public transport straightforward.
Before You Go
All venues on the tour are seated, and no prior knowledge of the instrument or of sound healing is needed. If you are new to the handpan, it is a steel instrument played with the hands, with a warm sound rich in overtones, a little like bells.
Child tickets are available for ages 12 and up, and wheelchair spaces can be arranged with the tour team directly. Tickets are sold at face value only through the official channels, so it is best to avoid resale platforms.
