Jennifer McCrea is a speaker, teacher and writer on money, meaning and social change, and co-author of the best-selling book The Generosity Network. Her work combines self-inquiry with practical skills, aiming to change people's relationship with money, power and resources so that real generosity and collective impact become possible.
For more than 30 years she has partnered with philanthropists, board members and social change leaders to think more creatively and collaboratively about aligning strategic direction and resources. She was a Senior Research Fellow at Harvard University for over a decade and has worked with more than 500 organizations, foundations, U.N. and government agencies, and movements across the globe.
Jennifer co-founded Born Free Africa and served as its CEO. It is a private sector-led global philanthropic initiative working to end the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children. She was also a Vice Chairman at the United Nations. She has spoken and led seminars for groups including Ashoka, Skoll World Forum, TED, Harvard Business School, Wharton and Oxford University.
In her team workshops, she helps organizations and boards see fundraising as integral to their mission. She also works on asking with confidence, planning campaigns, and building resilience through daily practices.
She serves on the Leading Change Network board and the advisory board of the MIT Media Lab, is an Ambassador for Pioneer Works, and is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
