Charlotte Skogsberg, who writes and teaches as Yogi Cha, is a yoga teacher with a degree in clinical psychology. She has a deep curiosity about eastern and western approaches to understanding the mind and the union of mind and body. Her work brings together three things she loves: yoga, psychology and Ayurveda. She uses them to help people find balance through what she describes as a unique healing process.
She began studying psychology out of a wish to understand human behaviour, and, as she puts it, herself. Her path into yoga started with a personal practice in the early 2000s, begun with a book. Later she completed a 200-hour certification in classical yoga, where she took in the yogic philosophy and the healing of the nervous system, and so the mind, through a yogic lifestyle. She has been based in Bali, Indonesia, for several years and can be found in Canggu.
Charlotte is open about having once lived far from what these disciplines suggest. In her early thirties she worked long days in a corporate city job, running on adrenaline and driven by a sense of what a good life should look like. That experience shapes how she teaches. She wanted to offer the guidance she would once have welcomed, and she hands over the tools that helped her.
Today she works holistically with students and clients on healing the dysregulated nervous system through meditation, yoga, psychology and Ayurveda. She teaches yoga classes online, including Chakra Flow and Vinyasa. She also created two online courses, the Self Image Project and the Self Knowledge Project. The first looks at how the mind works and how to release limiting beliefs. The second introduces the Ayurvedic approach to health and to understanding your own constitution. On her blog she writes about practice, mindfulness, eating, the seasons and self-knowledge.
