Descrizione

Under 40 Practice Group is an online meditation group for people in their 20s and 30s, offered through Seattle Insight in Seattle. It is a regular community sitting in the Insight Meditation (mindfulness) tradition, with a short reflection and conversation afterward. This evening session runs from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on Zoom, and the yearly theme is Transcendental Dependent Arising.

What to Expect

The group begins with a 30 minute sitting meditation, followed by a short reflection and discussion. The online-only meetings fall on the 4th Wednesday of the month and are led by rotating facilitators. On the 2nd Wednesdays, Keri Pederson leads the group, meeting both online and in person.

The group is built for a younger cohort, so you can expect to practice alongside others at a similar stage of life.

About Keri Pederson

Keri Pederson is a Community Guiding Teacher at Seattle Insight and the lead teacher of the Under 40 group. She guides the 2nd Wednesday meetings each month.

Before You Go

An introduction to Insight Meditation, or mindfulness meditation, is helpful but not required, so newcomers are welcome. Registration is not needed.

To keep the meetings a safe space, the Zoom link is shared on request. Send an email to the group's organizers asking for the Under 40 Zoom link, and they will provide it.

The event runs on dana, a term for generosity, or freely offered giving. A suggested donation is offered, along with dana for the teachers, and you are asked to give that or another heartfelt amount. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability to pay. Dana for both Seattle Insight and the teachers can be offered online or in person.
