Descrizione
Every Tuesday evening, as the pace of the week settles into dusk, a doorway opens at Buddhaloka Centre in Malvern East where you can step into stillness. This is no ordinary guided meditation—it's an hour anchored in Theravada Buddhist practice, led by Ajahn Brahm, a respected meditation teacher known for translating ancient wisdom into language that speaks to modern life. Whether you're seeking relief from the weight of stress, training your attention to move with intention, or simply learning to sit with yourself, you'll find a structured, welcoming space to do so.
Meditation can feel daunting to the uninitiated, but this weekly gathering at the Buddhist Society of Victoria welcomes beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The practice itself is accessible: there's no performance to watch, no posture to perfect. You'll simply show up, sit, and let Ajahn Brahm's guided instruction draw you inward. What emerges in that hour is often unexpected—a quietness you'd forgotten, a clarity about what matters, a tangible shift in how you meet the world.
What to Expect
You'll arrive and settle into the meditation hall, where the air itself seems to slow. For sixty minutes, Ajahn Brahm guides you through contemplative methods rooted in Buddhist tradition, with contemporary applications woven throughout—exploring how mindfulness eases anxiety, how focused attention rewires your relationship with reactivity. The session ends not in silence but in dialogue: a question-and-answer period where you can voice what arose during your practice or ask about the teachings. You leave with both the residue of calm and concrete understanding.
