Sacred Music Concert & Kīrtan with Sheela Bringi, Brent Kuecker & Sacred Sound Lab

Sacred Music Concert & Kīrtan with Sheela Bringi, Brent Kuecker & Sacred Sound Lab is a kirtan concert at Drala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. It brings together sacred music and the call-and-response chanting of kīrtan, led by Sheela Bringi, Brent Kuecker and Sacred Sound Lab. It suits anyone drawn to devotional singing, sacred music or a evening of shared sound in a contemplative mountain setting.

What to Expect

The event combines a sacred music concert with kīrtan, so the gathering holds both listening and singing together. Kīrtan is a participatory practice: a lead voice offers a phrase or mantra and the room answers, and the music tends to build through repetition and shared breath. No singing experience is needed to take part in a practice like this, and listening is as welcome as joining in.

The Setting

Drala Mountain Center sits in the mountains near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. For more than 50 years it has been a place where people gather for Shambhala teachings, indigenous wisdom traditions, body awareness practices, contemplative arts and mindful living. The land includes eight miles of wilderness trails and the Great Stupa, and the center offers lodging for guests who wish to stay on the land.

Anyone planning a visit around the concert may want to arrive with time to walk the trails or sit quietly before the music begins.
