Descrizione

Riversong Retreat is a silent meditation and self-inquiry retreat in Les Plans-sur-Bex, in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It is led by the meditation teacher Mukesh Gupta and held at Riversong, which hosts the gathering twice during the year. It is for anyone who feels drawn to live and work from a deeper ground of presence, and no background in philosophy or spiritual teachings is needed.

The retreat belongs to a wider series of meditative gatherings across Europe, Canada and India, each with its own fragrance. The thread running through all of them is what the organizers call the Living Flame of Silence.

What to Expect

Each retreat is an invitation into meditative self-inquiry. It opens a gentle space in which to look at fear and the restless ego-mind, and to awaken a deeper source of Being that moves beyond them.

The days flow with a harmonious rhythm made of a few simple elements:

- meditative self-inquiry
- quiet dialogues
- selected readings from the teachings of J. Krishnamurti
- small group explorations
- silent sittings
- contemplative walks in nature

The readings and dialogues give the mind something to question, while the silent sittings and walks leave room to take it in. The groups are international, gathered as what the organizers call Fellow Travellers, so you can expect to share the days with people from different countries and backgrounds.

About Mukesh Gupta

Mukesh Gupta is a traveling teacher who offers dialogues and meditative self-inquiry inspired by J. Krishnamurti and other non-dual teachings. He has more than two decades on his own spiritual path, and his approach rests on connecting with inner silence, compassionate presence and unconditional love.

He is known for his gift of meeting people from all walks of life, and his retreats and workshops are sought after around the world. He regularly travels to lead them, creating safe spaces where participants can explore fundamental questions about life. Over the past decade he has conducted more than two hundred retreats.

Before You Go

These retreats are open to everyone, regardless of gender, faith, culture or background. You do not need to have read Krishnamurti or studied any philosophy. What matters is a sincere wish to live from a deeper presence and to spend time in quiet with others who feel the same.

Krishnamurti spoke of the value of a retreat as a chance to stop the routine of outward existence and also the routine the mind establishes for its own safety and convenience. That is a fair description of what this gathering offers: time set apart from habit, with silence, inquiry and walks in nature at the center of the days.
